Jeter may play against Rays

If Derek Jeter doesn't encounter a problem running today he will return to the Yankees' lineup tomorrow night. Jeter, who went through a series of light running exercises, took batting practice and fielded ground balls hit right at him prior to yesterday's 4-3 loss at Fenway Park, will put the strained left quad through a more taxing workout today. If he doesn't feel a grabbing sensation, Jeter is likely to play against the Devil Rays in St. Petersburg tomorrow evening.

on the bright side-
the kid they called up - gonzales-
is a good looking prospect & is now turning into a really nice chip we can use in a trade down the line- since he will never see real time behind Jeter

so far Gonzalez has been a more than adequate replacement -- better bat, better glove -- if Jeter comes back, move him to 2nd, and move Cano to outfield, and let Damon sit for a while.

The name has changed to the Rays. When are the people finally going to get it right?

Well, good for him. I hope they rush him back too soon.

What a sis. If it doesn't work out with the Jankees, she has a spot on my daughter's softball team. Maybe someone can sing her to sleep tonight and that would help.

If he's gonna play against the devil Rays, Mr. Avon might miss the game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

You know, the team that is 2.5 games up on the Yankees right now.
