Earthquakes chasing 'Zinha'?
During the Fox Soccer Channel broadcast of San Jose vs Chicago, Christopher Sullivan remarked that he spoke with San Jose coach Frank Yallop and that Yallop said they are currently negotiating with 31-year-old Mexican-naturalized Brazilian playmaker Antonio "Zinha" Naelson, currently with Mexican Primera Division side Deportivo Toluca FC.

Sounds like a MLS signing.

I think that what the MLS lacks more than anything are creative types like Zinha. He will be great for America, and I hope we embrace him more than the Mexican fans did.
A good signing, especially for the Earthquakes. If we can compete with the Mexican league for players (somewhat), that's a good omen. I don't understand why they would want to come here though...doesn't MFL pay much better?
Maybe not. Anyone know?

Could defidently be a good pickup for anyone, especially San Jose. They're having a hard time meshing together as a team, already going 0-2-0. Zinha would defidently be a help to this team who has yet to score this season.

i believe this is the kind of player MLS needs. sometimes MLS games get boring, so they need a creative prescence on some teams, like Zinha

One of the greatest foreign players to play in the Mexican league. I initially rejected his calling to the Mexican national team, but like most doubters i forgot he was Brazilian (nothing against you guys) with his impressive play at the national team level. San Jose needs all the help they can get. Just let this year pass and sign him in the offseason. Doesn't every new franchise suffer their first year?

I think MLS can compete with the MFL....so what if they offer you 30,000,000,000 pesos to play...it isn't much more than the $19,000 mls pays...plus you get to play in front of 4500 fans in a 75,000 seat stadium. our burittos are almost as good too.

We have an American playing for the Brazillian National Team.
But its the womens team, if that means anything... maybe she could make the men's squad?

I dont see Zinha playing with the Mexican National Team anymore. Not with the coaching changes. Talented? Yes. Enough to cut it in the future? No.
By the way, it is not the MFL! It is the FMF!
Federacion Mexican de Futbol, that is.

Everyone knows in North America . The mexican league pays the most .The least makes at least $48,000 and the least the american player makes $19,.827. So Zinho makes at least 3 to 5 million in mexico. Rem eVEytime the mexicans come to the M.L.S. they make and avg of 1.6 million per year. The Mexican from CHicago fire is making about 2.5 per year and signed for 2 years.... The highest american in the M.L.S. IS making about 1.3 million for mulitiple years. So go figure... Zinho is brasilian mexiucan so he going to get at least 2 million for playing there. The Mexican that pays for DALLLAS just got a contract for 3.2million for 2 years. The M.L.S. IS getting better but can we please bring in some more Germans. Oliver Kahn would be great to start of the season for Seattle.... Lets just pray for that....

Zinha makes at least 3-5 million in Mexico? Seriously guy, how do you come up with these asinine statements? Every time you post it is nothing but pure speculation and stupidity. Please Alt+F4...That is what I pray for.
