Davidson loses committed recruit

If Davidson makes a return to the Elite Eight next season, the Wildcats might have to do it without adding any new recruits. Forward Alex Vouyoukas, who committed to Davidson in September, told the Observer Monday he did not academically qualify for the school and will not attend Davidson. "Davidson just has really high requirements," he said. "I had visited the school with my dad and I had gotten used to the idea of me playing there. It was a major disappointment." The 6-foot-8, 225-pound Vouyoukas played last season at Blair Academy in New Jersey, after coming over from Greece. He was the only commitment Davidson had received this year. Vouyoukas said Charlotte is among the schools he is considering, along with North Texas and Loyola (Md.). Charlotte does have one available as of Monday, but Vouyoukas said the school has not offered one. He said he is hoping to visit there in a few weeks.

If Davidson did not have that run in the tournament, this would not be news...and if it was, nobody would care anyway.

Why do I care about Davidson? If this story isn't about Stephen Curry then there is no point to it.

Hats off to Davidson for insisting their players can at least meet modest academic standards. Some colleges take players who can barely read and write.

Little respect there Dude. You all are bitter about the underdog....it should be the other way around. Watching all those overrated top 10 teams all season....love see them get there butts handed to them!
