Chivas USA wants Mexican native
Chivas USA and one of Mexico's most celebrated soccer teams, Chivas de Guadalajara, share an owner, a nickname and similar jerseys. But that lineage hasn't helped the Major League Soccer club land its own celebrated Mexican-born player. For months now, Chivas USA behind the scenes has been trying to find a notable player in Mexico who is interested in playing for their team, while also inquiring with other MLS teams that might be willing to trade their designated player slot. In early February, Chivas USA did make a run at Mexican national team forward Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista, a Chivas official said. Bautista is under contract with Mexican club Jaguares, and that team didn't want to let him go. Bofo becomes a free agent at the end of the current season, however, and a Chivas USA source said the team will make another run at him this summer. Chivas USA is also interested in Chivas de Guadalajara forward Omar Bravo, but Bravo will become a free agent when the league in Mexico ends in June, and he seems focused on moving to a team in Europe, the MLS club said.

Get the DP slot and get Ochoa as he'll be Mexico's starting GK for the next decade

They can't get Bofo, or bravo both teams have the same owner, an owner both players do not like, bravo had a contract extension offered to him that would make him one of the richest players in the mexican soccer league, but turned it down. Bravo was sent to a second division team after arguing with the owner and Bofo was released after some exchanges with the coach and owner, a coach that no longer is employed by Chivas. they should go after pardo when his contract is up with stuttgart.

Bravo is 28 and should test himself in Europe after palying in Mexico all this time, he's too good.
Bofo is the type of palyer Chivas need, but idk if they can get him.

yes, but i feel like borgetti is one of those guys who will be a bust like denilson. He's old and i dont know what his intentions are. He may just want to put in the least amount of effort for the most amount of money

I don't know why everyone speaks of Denilson like it was some sort of huge debacle. It was over almost as soon as it began.

Ochoa to the MLS instead of Europe or staying with Club America? Yeah, you keep thinking that.

I agree w/ Jeevs on Borgetti, seems more possible, Bofo is still a possibility but he might want too much money

They should wait for Pardo's contract to expire in June 2009. He'll be 32 and ready for the MLS. ha

Bravo's going to Europe. Bautista isn't as good as people think he is but he'd work better in MLS, methinks.

phew! thank god Chivas USA is getting back on the pandering train since it worked so well for them the first time around.
CUSA: you're problem is that you are named after a club A LOT of people hate. Plain and simple. IF they got every CDCHIVASdG fan to come out, they would probably fill the stadium, but they are too limited right now. The biggest mistake they made was naming the team after a polarizing team like Chivas. There are even a lot of USMNT fans who can't bring themselves to like them since they are named after Chivas.
I live in LA and watch them on TV and they play gorgeous football, but can't support them (well, I'm a Fire fan for one) but also, I just hate Chivas d. G so much that I can't support the sister club.
