Will Douglas-Roberts follow Rose?

Posted: Wednesday April 16, 2008 07:00AM ET

Derrick Rose's departure from Memphis had been a poorly kept secret, beginning Monday morning when CNBC's Darren Rovell reported that he was close to signing with agent Arn Tellem. It became official at 4:43 p.m., when Memphis sent out a release that Rose would forgo his final three seasons of college eligibility. Memphis will now await word on whether junior guard Chris Douglas-Roberts, the team's leading scorer, will enter the draft. All indications point to Douglas-Roberts at least putting his name in and gauging his viability as a first-round selection.

Poorly kept secret? Come on, did anyone really think Rose was coming back?

No surprises hear on either's announcement ... both should be first rounders--behind Beasley, of course.

"poorly kept secret" means that everybody knew it was going to happen

As for CDR....kid's got nothing left to prove in college and Calipari won't be getting him a championship anytime soon. This kid's born to play ball at the pro level.

More then likely.

1st team all-american.. his team made it to the championship.. he should be a first rounder right? i dont think so... that last memory i have and im sure the NBA execs have is him missing FT's in the clutch and his team doing nothing in OT... stay in school and prove to me that you can have another great year w/o Rose

Report Offensive Comment

He will enter the draft and he will definitely be a first round pick.

Report Offensive Comment

No reason for him to stay-
he went to college to refine his skills to be able to get a job.

He will - at minimum- get a guaranteed 3yr deal worth millions

Why stay & have some of your flaws exposed when next years memphis team will be without dorsey & rose........& other teams will focus on YOU

now that Tyreke Evans has committed to Memphis is will be interesting to see if he stays to win a championship or goes to the nba

Report Offensive Comment

look at this lineup if he decides to stay
willie kemp - g
tyreke evans - g
CDR - g
Shaun Taggert - F
Robert Dozier - F
and antonio anderson would give them the best lineup

They won't be any better than they were this year. They got beat by a team that was just as athletic as they are and a coach that proved to be better prepared that coach Cal.

Coaching is so over-rated and coach Cal proved that by not helping his team when they needed him the most. Yeah, the players miss FT down the stretch but they were up 3 with less than 10 second to go.

If anyone believe for a moment that coach Cal told his players to foul and not let a 3 get off, I think you are being miss-led. I am sure those a guys from Memphis could have fouled someone easily. Hell I could have fouled someone on the floor.

Coach was right about one thing FT wouldn't beat him but his poor coaching down the stretch certainly did.

Good, good......the NBA needs more guys that can't shoot Free Throws.
