Soriano injured making signature hop

Forget the hot-tub injuries and twisted testicles and beat-downs at the Circle K. What happened Tuesday night at Wrigley Field was the Cubby occurrence of all Cubby occurrences since Lou Piniella became manager. A $136 million outfielder who can't catch a routine fly ball without taking a maddening little hop suffers a calf injury doing the hop and probably will land on the disabled list today. Alfonso Soriano rode his first-inning hop, skip and a jump all the way to the hospital Tuesday night for an MRI exam, the results of which are expected by today. But Piniella conceded Tuesday night, ''It'll probably be awhile."

Twisted Testicles.....Love that one SI....

He's a dope. Stop trying to get your spot on sportscenter and just catch the damn ball. These players today are ridiculous.

Kudos to Cub fans. Didn't mention the word 'curse' yet. Some lame bunch on the east coast had one going for like 80 years, I am told.

Can he be more overpaid? I highly doubt it, plus he isnt that good of a hitter and is a horrid outfielder

Oh yes, I heard about the gypsy and the goat. However, these fans actually avoided a chorus of curse talk long enough for this story to make it here. The Cubs won the game and are playing well.

This is how Sportscenter ruined the game...

April 16, 2008  09:17 AM ET

Forget about the twisted testicles? How can I do that...

April 16, 2008  09:21 AM ET

AllStarz - I would like an answer to that one as well...

April 16, 2008  09:21 AM ET

I thought Soriano's signature play was swinging at pitches a foot off the plate?

April 16, 2008  10:05 AM ET

The way the Cubs bench & role players are stepping up, I don't think it's that big of a loss right now.

April 16, 2008  10:57 AM ET

There are ligaments in your testicles that keep them on each side. If the ligaments tear you can literally twist your testicles by swapping left for right...happened to a buddy of mine, apparently extremely painful.

The more you know...

April 16, 2008  11:03 AM ET

oh dang tht suckz he iz a very good player tht suckz 4 him to b injured

April 16, 2008  11:07 AM ET

What an idiot. Good I'm glad he's injured. We are better without him. He is a showboat who wants to only hit leadoff but strikes out all the time- never moves runners over or makes producitve outs. He blows and he hurts the team.

April 16, 2008  11:08 AM ET

HEy

April 16, 2008  11:10 AM ET

Moronic.

April 16, 2008  11:27 AM ET

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Maybe next we'll see Manny pull a glute watching a home run.

April 16, 2008  11:41 AM ET

soriano has been the same player since he came into the league. He can only hit leadoff because he can only hit fastballs.
By the way, he's a much better left-fielder than Murton.
The Cubs will be go as far as their starters take them. They'll be able to score runs regardless.
