Unless something drastically changes, Tyreke Evans is going to Memphis, according to a source close to the American Christian Academy all-American guard. Evans would say only that Memphis, Villanova and Connecticut were still being considered. According to the source, the 6-foot-6 combo guard, the MVP of the recent McDonald's All-American Game, picked Memphis on Friday night while in Portland, Ore.,

Report Offensive CommentI don't think anybody will ever question Calipari's recruiting. Now game management in the final seconds of an NCAA Championship when you're winning? That's something else...

Report Offensive CommentThis kid can flat out play. He has a man's body and plays very mature for a young kid. He always seems in control. He tends to fall in love with his jumper but when he goes to the rack he is like Lebron at the HS level.

Their poor free-throw shooting finally bit them in the ****.
It happens...in the 2003 Final, KU missed 18 at the charity stripe, and lost by 3.

In a game that close there's no reason to hold onto timeouts. He could have called a timeout and told his team to make sure they foul and don't let them get off a 3. Or called a timeout and tried to regroup his players while they kept missing free throws. Or, even called a timeout after Chalmers made that 3. He got outcoached at the end. The players missed free throws but he could have done more as well.

Report Offensive Commentjj730 ... couldn't agree more. Cal' blew it. When it came down to the wire, we were shocked that Chalmers even got off a 3-point attempt. A tremendous coaching blunder, one of the worst I've ever witnessed. Happy with the outcome though, must admit.

Report Offensive Commenthe should have picked nova would have played in the Big East and under a coach that realllly understands guards in jay wright, he would be joining scottie reynolds, corey fisher and corey stokes, he would get to play games at the wachovia center where his brother and legal guardian reggie evans plays for the sixers and he would be close to home...picking memphis was stupid rose douglas roberts and dorsey are all gonna leave and hes gonna be all by himself like oj mayo going to usc where there was no other talent...he should have picked nova but would rather be the only guy at memphis than share the spotlight with scottie reynolds at nova...selfish

Report Offensive CommentUConn is an NBA pipeline, but they never seemed to be much in the running. Memphis is a good pick for him, so he can play his style in Cal's offense. I dont think he will be as good as Rose, because Rose was unbeliebable at the point. Memphis is still going to be a top 5 team next year, and Evan's commitment could also affect where fellow 5-star recruit Devin Ebanks goes. There is a good possibly that Ebanks will go to Memphis now that Evans is there, and now that line-up will be scary good

Report Offensive CommentThe pieces are falling into place now. Two other top 20 recruits are waiting to see where Evans would go so they would follow. So now Memphis will get Witherspoon and Devin Ebanks along with two other highly touted freshmen in
Angel Garcia and Matt Simpkins. Even though they are losing Rose, CDR and Dorsey, they will be super scary again with the new guys and the others that are returning. Cal is getting Memphis to be the college NBA development team.
Super athletes that only stay one year and bolt to the NBA first round.
