Pacman delays reinstatement

Suspended Titans cornerback Pacman Jones said Tuesday he's decided to wait until he's traded before filing for reinstatement with the NFL. Negotiations between the Titans and Cowboys remain at a standstill, but a deal could be completed by the NFL Draft. The two teams are close to agreeing on draft picks the Titans would receive from the Cowboys -- the Titans are seeking a fourth-round pick this year and a conditional pick in 2009 that could be a fifth-rounder -- but the Titans remain firm to be reimbursed for some of the bonus money they've already paid to Jones. The Titans want back $1.3 million, Jones said.

Yes. Otherwise he might get traded elsewhere if he were reinstated.

April 16, 2008  06:47 AM ET

I don't know if that was a smart idea for Pac.

AmericasLegend - I would have to agree with you on that one...Is that really the smart thing to do?

Good Morning To All!!!!

The guy is a piece of shlyt. It's no wonder why the cocaine cowboys (South America's team) want him.

guess he's having a hard time sawing through the ankle moniter band. they make them out of durable stuff now.

I'm sure Pacman's got some advice from his agent and either the Titans or Cowboys. If/when he gets traded to the Cowboys, he can atleast say he has Jerry Jones on his side when he steps to the commish. And no matter what you all think of Jerry, he has pull in the NFL. And for all the Cowboys jokes(cocaine cowboys?) can you tell me the last time a Cowboys player was arrested?

April 16, 2008  08:00 AM ET

Huh? Titans did not give him this advice. It is kinda like a divorce there.

How do you know what the Titans said to him? They told have told him shutup, and let us finish this trade before you go running to the commish. That why, if he doesn't get reinstated, the Titans still get their draft pick.

April 16, 2008  08:14 AM ET

how is this in either the Cowboys, Titans or Jones best interest ?
Why would a team give up a draft pick for next weeks draft for a player that may not even play ?
I need more coffee..

morning all.

I would think that the Titans wouldnt keep any pick they receive if Pacman isnt reinstated? The Cowboys would be crazy to do that. Jerry Jones is insane. He's not crazy

If the Titans makes a trade this week or next for a draft pick, and Goodell doesn't reinstate him, what would happen? The Titans would draft the player and the Cowboys would be out of luck. I doubt that happens. But you never know. If I were the Titans I would get this done just in case he doesn't get reinstated.
