Knicks prez Donnie Walsh is expected to finally announce the axing of Isiah Thomas as head coach either today or the latest tomorrow, but there were indications following last night's season finale Thomas will survive in the organization in some capacity. Walsh, honored before last night's game in receiving a giant Pacers' plaque, indicated potential interest in Mark Jackson, who played for him in Indiana. A source said Walsh wanted to bring Jackson in for the last Pacers' opening last spring but Larry Bird nixed it.

April 17, 2008  07:24 AM ET

What about his two weeks?

April 17, 2008  08:19 AM ET

Two weeks? Ha! Don't let the door hit you where the sun doesn't shine Zeke! Go! GET OUT!

April 17, 2008  08:31 AM ET

I'll believe it when I see it.

April 17, 2008  09:03 AM ET

I think Isiah is really president Bush......

Think about it.......You never see them in the same place & they have the EXACT same persona-
they are always right- no matter what, things are always doing well, they believe history will show them to be great men, they send their troops/team into certain losing situations, everyone else is wrong.......

I'm telling you- they are the same person

Very good analogy. Both are blind to the extent that they can't see what's right in front of them, and neither of them seems to want to go away. Yep; same guy.

I'm shocked

April 17, 2008  10:12 AM ET

So how many more ways can FanNation reword Isiah will no longer be coach?

April 17, 2008  10:19 AM ET

And in other news, the sun is hot, the grass is green, and the ocean is blue.

April 17, 2008  10:47 AM ET

finally the nightmare might be finally over... only if walsh does not hire billy king and larry harris, they're almost as bad as isiah

April 17, 2008  11:48 AM ET

At this rate, Area 51 will be declassified before Zeke is fired.

Two weeks my ass!

April 17, 2008  12:47 PM ET

This is the best headline I have read since the season started.
Notice how even the staunchest of Isiah supporters have tucked tail and stopped posting. (e.g. liontut)

I think based on the evaluation of Zeke's basketball IQ, he was declared legally retarded by current NBA standards.

And no liontut, this team is not better today than it was when he got it. Don't even post that.

But thanks to this headline I can actually see some daylight as far as this team is concerned.

April 17, 2008  02:24 PM ET

ABOUT TIME, WHAT TOOK SOOOO LONG?

April 17, 2008  02:34 PM ET

Good ridens maybe finally the knicks can rebuild the right way ...should of fired isiah a long time ago ..!!!

April 17, 2008  07:44 PM ET

Isiah will be fired as coach soon...

psych!

April 17, 2008  11:28 PM ET

How is this news? More of common sense....

Hopefully, the poor guy can get hired somewhere where they need a new head coach. Maybe Isiah can hook up with his old buddy Michael Jordan and get a job in Charlotte.
