The Northern Palm Beach County/Treasure Coast region added another big name to its list of property owners. Bull & Bear LLC, a company managed by retired NBA great Michael Jordan, has purchased two lots in an exclusive development called The Bear's Club for a combined $4.8 million, Palm Beach County records show. Darcy Dougherty, executive director for the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches, said Jordan's name would only add to the prestige that other celebrities such as Tiger Woods and Celine Dion, Oscar and Grammy award-winning pop singer, have already bestowed on the area by settling there full or part-time.

April 17, 2008  08:20 AM ET

I'm more interested in his plans for the Bobcats. I couldn't care less where he lives, or who his neighbors are.

April 17, 2008  11:15 AM ET

I don't know if the promise of Celine Dion would lure me anywhere except far away from the place she's located.

April 17, 2008  11:45 AM ET

MJ should move to Vegas. It's more convenient for his 'habits'.

April 17, 2008  02:30 PM ET

Yeah the only thing I want to hear out of Mike right now is who he plans to have coaching the Bobcats. Last I heard he was sticking with Vincent. Maybe he's too busy moving to make any real basketball decisions about the team.

April 18, 2008  06:18 AM ET

You guys should be more appreciative of this news.
Buying a 5 million dollar property in Palm Beach is a big transaction!
Think about it - if you were to make such a purchase, wouldn't it be a BIG move for you?
It also re-affirms Jordan's interest in sports other than basketball - ie golf.
Given the current state of the economy and real estate market, it is good to know that some people are benefiting and indirectly helping us recover from the recession.

LOL, I guess we should all thank Michael for turning around the economy! Are you really going to believe that one person buying a 5M house is going to have any effect?
