A team source said the Bucks were pursuing former Bulls coach Scott Skiles, who also might be a strong candidate for the Knicks' anticipated opening. Skiles, a close friend of Larry Krystkowiak's, advised him when the Bucks promoted Krystkowiak to the head coaching job in March of last year.

no!!!!!!!!!

As a bulls fan, he is great for about two years. But, his approach and attitude eventually start **** off the players, and they shut him down.

On the eve of the playoffs in one of the most interesting NBA seasons in some time, it sure is scintillating to see all the T & R stories about coaching changes with the league's crappiest teams and not a single one about the teams that will still be playing.

Skiles is a good coach. It's the chitty bunch in Chicago that failed to adhere.

I don't care if you had Jesus Christ on that bench preaching b-ball, that team was doomed. They had too many disgruntled characters on that team and it wasn't Skiles fault.

Good for the Bucks.

another recycled coach

April 18, 2008  11:29 AM ET

Skiles helped an average roster overachieve for the previous two years. He can still get it done

April 18, 2008  11:36 AM ET

I'll take him on the Knicks-
we need someone to preach defense & intensity.

He's like buck Schowalter- teaches the team how to be a winner -
wears out his wlcome, gets fired & then the team moves on-
look at phoenix- Chicago is TBD

April 18, 2008  11:56 AM ET

He will be a bad hire for the knicks...the knicks need Mark Jackson or someone along those lines

April 18, 2008  12:08 PM ET

he's great for young teams that need direction..i think he'd be a great college coach...

April 18, 2008  12:34 PM ET

I think that skiles is right for what the knicks are trying to do; it's funny that he acutally coached Crawford and Curry on the bulls. When asked what would improve Curry's rebounding, Skils once said "jump".

April 18, 2008  12:38 PM ET

Could the knicks be underachieving even more? I doubt it.

April 18, 2008  01:40 PM ET

Oh yes they can. Wait and watch.

April 18, 2008  01:52 PM ET

Knicks...where you go when you can't make it with the Bulls!

The Bucks would be better for him then the Knicks. Plus, Walsh seems to enamored with Mark Jackson to care that Skiles is out there,

So Scott how close are you too signing with the Knicks? That close, huh?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Not Skiles, wrong move!!! !st of all the team is going to mutiny right away, Specifically Michael Redd and Mo Williams. This team doesnt need an ego maniac at the helm!!!! The Bucks are actually in pretty decent shape here's a couple moves I would do: #1Trade Mo Williams! Sessions is the PG of the future so you might as well play him right now. He distrbutes the ball which is exactly what the offense needs. #2 Trade Bobby Simmons. Waste of money period!!! #3Low-ball Bogut. GHive him a scale downed extension now to see if he bites, If he doesnt then hope he's just playing for his contract because with a real PG Bogut's game has taken off and if he becomes a solid 20, 10 guy with a couple of offensive moves he'll be a MAX guy. #4Hire a Veteran Assistant has a coach. Stay away from the qick-fix relics(Skiles, Van Gundy, Larry Brown) and hire a long time defensive assistant. Thebidu from the Celtics comes to mine #5 stop spending money and cost cut. This was a very expensive roster that couldnt even win 30 game. Nobody is untradeable but dont go on a fire sale. Dangle Redd and see what you get. Has a matter of fact Ramone Sessions and Bogut are the only untouchables, but you cant trade Redd or Williams together either one or the other. No Skiles!!!

Perhaps the Bucks need a take charge coach like Skiles. He can make "shoot first" players like Redd and Williams change and play defense, or trade them.
Bogut is a very good player, but seldom gets the ball. The same goes for Yi.
After he had his breakout game against Charlotte, he seldom saw the ball on
offense. He is a good rebounder, and when he learns to play tougher, he will be a solid starter. He has an NBA Jumpshot. The Bucks GM paid too much for many players, and the incoming coach will have to deal with this.

Are the Bucks still in the NBA?
Maybe they can change their uniform again since they cant seem to do much of anything else for the last 35 years.
