Ind. league team's Vick night bothers some
Michael Vick's prison cell at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., is only about 16 miles away from where the Kansas City T-Bones play independent league baseball, in the Northern League. That proximity has led the T-Bones to schedule a May 28 Michael Vick "Welcome to the Neighborhood" night at their CommunityAmerica Ballpark. In conjunction with about 10 nearby animal shelters, the T-Bones will have a warning-track parade of dogs that are up for adoption. The team says it's trying to increase awareness of animal abuse with the tie to Vick. The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback is imprisoned for dogfighting offenses, to which he pleaded guilty.

killing dogs or dogsfights or whatever he was doing was a bad thing, but it seems to me that there are several other NFL players who probably do much worse and yet people make comments like "I hate Vick " - Drainer is Al' & da Munks' "
people comlain about the media and how they are so biased in their reports and observations and yet those same people follow them blindly.
we were told by the media to hate vick. . and here we are.

To texasmade:
Probably because the NFL doesn't acknowledge Vick anymore, and this independent league comes closest to MLB. (?)

Yeah, he'll probably get to come back and play again. I mean it's not like he bet on games or anything. This fan thinks Vick should be allowed to come back only after Pete Rose is in Cooperstown!

REAPER, he was convicted of killing dogs and fighting them. To any dog lover, that is a hate worthy offense. Has nothing to do with the media. I hate Vick.

do you really think Michael Vick was the only NFL player involved in dog fights like these?
I'm pretty sure more members of his team and other NFL players were involved in this, but since Michael Vick happens to be a "Superstar" he was the only one targeted by the media has someone who is an "awful person".
i am not saying what he did was not wrong but we all make our mistakes.

I don't hate Vick, I hate what he did. I don't know the man to hate him. The T-Bones promotion is hilarious and for a great cause. Bravo.

REAPER, he was the only one that got caught. Please name "several other NFL players who probably do much worse" and what they've been convicted of.

The team is trying to do some good in light of what was a bad situation. Who knows how many dogs could be adopted by them being promoted at the game. I say give'em a dog biscuit T-Bones, nice marketing work.
