A's consider new Street deal

A's general manager Billy Beane said he talked to Alan Hendricks, the agent for closer Huston Street, this week but that the sides are discussing a possible multi-year deal in more general terms than anything really specific yet.

By the look of Street's arms in this picture I think he's telling the A's what they can do with their contract offer "ah fongu" !!!

That's how they do eff-u in Japan. Don't know where he picked it up.

I would be careful about signing him again because he's a very shaky closer. Signing any closer or relief pitcher to a lucrative contract is really a crapshoot. With a few exceptions most end up ineffective after 3 years or so.

They're just signing him so that he is more tradeable.

so, they let all their starters walk, but want to sign the closer? Tell me how many games they intend him to close out when their lack of starting pitching will more often than not prevent him from being in position to get saves
