Bosh takes shot at broadcaster

Chris Bosh has lashed out at a "classless" American broadcaster he feels crossed the line in a personal attack. Stephen A. Smith, a prominent ESPN analyst known for his loud delivery and over-the-top commentary, compared Bosh to former NBAer Manute Bol on Friday, chastising the Raptor all-star for playing soft and being unable to lead his team to any significant level of success.

I like Stephen A. but he was wrong here. Bosh isn't surrounded with the personnel for a significant level of success. He's done as much as can be expected with what he has to work with. The Raptors are still probably 2 players away from being an elite team.

I don't really believe Bosh can do it alone. KG, Kobe, and Lebron are good examples of great players who have had decent teammates (now of course all 3 have a completely new roster).

Who cares what Stephen A. Smith says? Go out there and prove him wrong Bosh.

April 20, 2008  10:39 AM ET

Exactly, Farmar. These guys worry too much about their image. Win, and the image takes care of itself.

I like you Bosh! Hell, I'd even buy a used car from you!

I like Stephen A, but, that was a little too much!

- CORRECTION -

I like Stephen A, but, that was WAY too much! Bosh is a good player and seems like a nice kid!

"Howeva" and "At the end of the day"

Bosh, like T-Mac and Lebron is an all-star, but he doesn't have the supporting cast like some other stars in the NBA. In case Stephen A forgot, basketball is a team sport, he should pull his head outta his **** and realize that soon

April 20, 2008  01:11 PM ET

Duo008, just going to write that. There has never been one player, not even Michael who could do it all alone. Bosh reminds me of KG when he was in Minny, same type of energy and passion to win. Let's see if the can get him better personnel.

April 20, 2008  01:23 PM ET

I really dislike Stephen A. so I can only agree with Bosh.
However, prove him wrong on the floor. The Raps have a shot at the Magic. They have some great shooters.
If you ask me, Toronto's problem is Sam Mitchell and also Andrea Bargnani.
Mitchell doesn't wow me as a coach, they can find a better replacement.

I am not a Bosh or Raptors fan... But this knucklehead Smith is WAY off base... From what I have read and seen... This guy is one of the top centers in the league... And will only get better... Comparing him to Manute Bol is a joke... Then again... So is Smith...Does anyone have respect for this guy???... Nobody I have ever talked to does

Well said.....I second that emotion

April 20, 2008  05:35 PM ET

Ignore Smith. You are better then him Bosh. Besides Smith will stop insulting you if you call up and tell him to leave you alone. That is what Danny AInge did when Smith ripped him for the stupidity his career as a GM was until McHale handed over Garnett for garbage.

So just call him up. He will change his so called opinion if you confront the wimp.

Also remember Bosh. Smith is a wanna be baller but he couldn't do it since he is a shirt talentless $$$$. He is just jealous because you made it and he couldn't.

April 20, 2008  07:12 PM ET

Please people, Stephen A. Smith is probably the most straight forward no-nonsense analyst and he is almost always right. Bosh is a softy and in this case, the truth hurts.

April 20, 2008  07:52 PM ET

Trade Rasheed Wallace for Bosh and see how good Bosh looks then...Dum comment man...

i like steven a smith he says what he wants and what he feels and thats why i like lisetin to him ..Bosh just needs to be on a team where he's the secondary option and wacth how he'd shine

April 20, 2008  11:11 PM ET

Stephen A. is an assbag who is in love with the sound of his own voice. He is on target sometimes, but don't give him a free pass and say he's always right.

April 20, 2008  11:18 PM ET

Steven A. Smith is fun to watch and he does have some good input. I didn't like him at first but he has grown on me. He was wrong in saying what he did about Chris Bosh. This kid is an animal on the court and if he had better talent around him they could contend for at least a Eastern championship!

I can't watch Stephen A Smith. I love basketball and watch every thing basketball that comes on TV but if Stephen A is on ESPN I have to turn the channel and it upsets me.
