Sources question Dorsey's health

A healthy Glenn Dorsey would top just about every draft board in the NFL, or be second behind Arkansas running back Darren McFadden. But is he healthy? Some league sources say X-rays show there is a dark spot, or small line in the area on Dorsey's leg. Is that a sign of healing? Is there a chance it can fracture again? Dorsey said it happened when he bumped against something in the weight room, and that it has not been an issue.

perfect # 72 lol looks like a mini fridge

He didn't miss a game in college so I think it's not that big of a deal..

April 21, 2008  08:10 AM ET

he'll end up dropping just abit, and whichever team picks him will be getting a bargain

April 21, 2008  08:16 AM ET

I would be more worried about his conditioning. I can see him ballooning by 50 pounds in 2 years.

April 21, 2008  08:46 AM ET

every draft stories like this come out in hopes of knocking someone down the draft board to a few awaiting teams that have picks 4-10.

April 21, 2008  09:43 AM ET

will he drop?

April 21, 2008  11:10 AM ET

If he is a can't miss prospect who many have at the top of their board or second only to McFadden then you take him. He plays best in the big games and that means more to me than a little dark spot on an x-ray.

April 21, 2008  11:15 AM ET

He's a stud when healthy, but if he injured his leg 'bumping' into something then I would think twice.

However, teams are good at posturing, so that players like this fall to them and for a discounted pay rate.

Got to love the draft. Can't wait for Saturday.

Those teams that pass on him will be fools.... He was the best DL in college for 2 years straight!

April 21, 2008  12:02 PM ET

The only thing I don't like about him is that he is a DT and it is sometimes hard to see how that money helps the team but seeing how bad my Rams run defense is I would love to see him in the lineup.

April 21, 2008  12:39 PM ET

My prediction right now amongst all the negativity about Dorsey - he will turn out to be the BEST player drafted this year and become a longtime ALL PRO - regardless of who or when he's drafted.

April 21, 2008  01:27 PM ET

I am one of those sources.

April 21, 2008  01:46 PM ET

you mean that pudge gut is unhealthy? You mean he eats alot of burgers? He seemd pretty healthy when he was smacking people in the backfield.

April 21, 2008  02:57 PM ET

I'm praying the Falcons get him..... but if the Falcons draft him, it will be the kiss of death for Dorsey. He'll either get injured in pre-season or he will show up 75 pounds overweight. I'm hoping for someone that can ****-slap Tampa.

Perhaps so, College ain't like the Pro's, I'd pass on him,
he still shouldn't drop to far

April 21, 2008  05:48 PM ET

Oh, please, we all like Glenn..

April 21, 2008  06:00 PM ET

Raiders will take him, but the Lambs will get him first. Mcfadden is moving all around these draft boards but this is the guy they will be calling the "freak" from here on out.

His stock has dropped now so he will not be at the forefront of the draft. Can you say top 20 not top 5!
