Adam "Pacman" Jones paid "extortion" money to a 29-year-old man arrested in a Las Vegas strip club shooting that left a club employee paralyzed, police said. A police report obtained Monday said Arvin Kenti Edwards, of Renton, Wash., used go-betweens to reach Jones, who it said paid $15,000 in two installments after the shooting. Police alleged in the documents that one of the go-betweens told Jones that if he refused to pay, the accused shooter would "go after Jones, his mother and daughter." Jones, 24, went to Seattle on Friday and picked Edwards from a police lineup, said Robert Langford, Jones' lawyer in Las Vegas. He said Jones identified Edwards as the man who opened fire with a handgun a little before 5 a.m. Feb. 19, 2007, outside the strip club during the NBA's All-Star Weekend. Las Vegas police said Jones met briefly with Edwards after a brawl led Jones and his entourage to be ejected from the Minxx strip club several blocks off the Las Vegas Strip. The two men parted, according to witnesses, and shots were fired moments later toward the club.

What???

April 22, 2008  08:32 AM ET

They cling to their guns, their clubs and their extortion as a way to explain their frustrations.

Don't blame me! A presidential candidate put the last three words together and they made no sense.

I'm sure this is Pacman's fault that he got threatened too....

April 22, 2008  09:17 AM ET

Let me try to understand this.....Pacman just be came a victim......hmmm?

April 22, 2008  09:28 AM ET

It's hard to get a handle on this...pacman a victim. It might take me awhile. I was hoping to go a day without a Pacman story...no such luck.

April 22, 2008  09:31 AM ET

Okay, Pacman dear, just stick to the script, just stick to the script and everything will be fine.

April 22, 2008  10:42 AM ET

wait wait...the article I saw said the "extortionist" demanded money from Jones for "services rendered"....

To me that sounds as if Jones had more involvement in the guy shooting someone than he is letting on....

I think he is a criminal tbh. More so than he has already shown himself to be.

At this point, what comes across my mind regarding Adam Jones is this - did Rodriguez notice anything "odd" about Jones and his entourage at WVU? Did Rodriguez anything odd about any of his former WVU players now embarassing the NFL?

Yep
Like I believe THAT phony piece of news.
Sounds more like Pacman making excuses and absolving himself of
any responsibility as he has been prone to do since entering the world.
I believe nothing from him and wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him.

You do know that "phony piece of news" is a police report? And that Pacman ID'd the man in Seattle over the weekend?

April 22, 2008  02:04 PM ET

And that the man he ID'd has now been arrested for the shooting?

Like it or not, Pacman haters, this is a story about him getting closer to the law, not further from it. Even the blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

April 22, 2008  02:45 PM ET

His name isnt Pacman...its Adam.

Adam is still further from being a "law abiding" citizen than Al Capone (being dead helps him stay legit).

He is a bum and should never again be allowed into a position to make millions of dollars. He was given the opportunity of a lifetime and blew it imo.

He is a bum and a huge dummy.

April 22, 2008  02:59 PM ET

Are the Cowboys going to try and make a trade for Arvin Kenti Edwards, too?

April 22, 2008  06:25 PM ET

PacMan you are a disaster waiting to happen !!! Go find a new career where your TRUE talents can be used !!!

April 22, 2008  08:56 PM ET

CAN YOU GET ANOTHER PICTURE OF PACMAN, PLEASE???????
