Packers primed to trade up?

If there is an ideal team for trading up Saturday in the first round of the NFL draft to grab an impact player, the Packers would be it. With one of the youngest teams in the league coming off a berth in the NFC Championship Game, the Packers have depth and few, if any, needs to fill. They certainly have some ammunition with eight overall picks in the seven-round draft, including six in the first 135 selections. And plenty of salary-cap space to take on the most daring of contracts.

What would the Packers trade up for? What position do they really need? LT, RT, CB, and depth at every other position.......but they don't need to trade up.

No, this would never happen. If anything, they would trade down, getting more picks than what they have.

Oh, and every mock draft I see has them taking Brandon Flowers. This will not happen, as he is too short for the Packers. Their policy is to never take defensive backs under a certain height.

I could see it happening if one of those top flight CBs or DL start to slide near the late teens or early 20's. They need help... YOUNG help at the corners and you can NEVER have too many linemen on either side of the ball.

Ted Tompson will probably trade down, but probably not trade his 30th pick. If Ted doesn't end up with 3 2nd round picks (currently have 2) and a boatload of 4th & 5th round picks, I'd be suprised.

Trade up or not, this team is going to be average without Favre. And what if ARodg gets hurt (which he has been apt to do over the years - as a backup!)? Then its back to 4-12....

Right won't happen, I like Aaron Rogers last year filling in for Favre
in that Dallas game.
You Packer fans just wait, good things are waiting from this guy.
Lots of quality backups around, but Rogers ain't getting hurt.

The Pack doesn't need to trade up in the draft.... They are deep at every position. They can take their chances with some of the draft picks they have.
