Kobe Bryant continued on Monday to compliment Mitch Kupchak, saying the Lakers' general manager had gone from an "F to an A-plus," and also added some colorful texture to his thoughts on the franchise. "I love our team here," Bryant said. "I love what we're doing here. We have a great relationship, we have great chemistry. We have all the pieces in here to make a run for a long time." Bryant said that he was "absolutely" open to finishing his career with the Lakers and that he had not thought about terminating his contract, although he declined to speculate when asked if he would indeed opt out after next season.

In LA, so he will move to Louisianna and play for the Hornets? Or sign with the Clippers? Cool.

This article is as pointless as my post is.

Let the Kobe bashing begin...

April 22, 2008  08:11 AM ET

This situation is simple to understand. Basically, Kobe matured from a year ago.
Earlier, he didn't appreciate how good he had it in LA - how Kupchak and the rest of the Lakers management wanted him there and were counting on him being a franchise player.
His disruptions were simply part of him growing up.
If you look at other superstars, they too have gone through this process. Scottie Pippen, who was almost a career Bull, used to throw tantrums about being traded even while playing with Jordan. He then matured and sticked it out with the Bulls until the end of the dynasty.

WAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAH............... sob, sob, WAH WAH WAH WAHWAHWAHWAH...sob sob

"Oh, we are good now?" Okay Mr. Kupchak... Kobe wanna stay in LA now, okay? Tank-you berry much...

April 22, 2008  08:41 AM ET

Mature this! Kobe is the same selfish selfish prick he's always been--except now, they have Gasol. Through Sunday, the Lakers are 23-5 with Pao. Suddenly Kobe is happy, and doesn't want to leave anymore? It must be a really slow day in LA, but the times could have come up with a better story than this. Maybe they could report on the traffic outside the Staple Center.

April 22, 2008  08:45 AM ET

Nobody's bashing the Colorado Kid, Lakerland is just happy right now the way things are "going".

April 22, 2008  08:47 AM ET

players.. but hopefully everything goes good in laker town.. but we want more parades... =)

Dude.....stick to one incomprehensible sentence please. Do we really need a paragraph of 1st grade level babble?

April 22, 2008  08:49 AM ET

I think if that tape was not released (and never demanded a Bulls trade for that matter), then I think he would be the clear favorite to win MVP. I think Kobe is lucky the owner ignored the Kidd trade video and Kobe's demands because that would have been a terrible idea.

April 22, 2008  08:52 AM ET

Still, I do not agree that Kobe matured or is loyal. He simply has better teammates: Gasol, Fisher, and the new and improved Bynum and decided to shut up because they are winning.

April 22, 2008  09:03 AM ET

Kobe is a moron. He's as phony as the average boob on the women LA. I wouldn't take him on a team if he paid me.

April 22, 2008  09:37 AM ET

@Epoch: And which team do you play for again?? LMAOooo.

April 22, 2008  09:41 AM ET

futureespnanalysis,
Stick to grade school dude...we don't need a morom like you on ESPN.

Anyway, back to the article. Winning cures all things. Stop hating on the guy. If his rant last summer made the players work that much harder, then more power to him. It certainly made the Lakers FO seriously look at other options which is why we now have Gasol.

So a big THANK YOU to Kobe is in order.

April 22, 2008  09:43 AM ET

Kobe should be MVP for this year. I always thought whoever had the better record between the Hornets and Lakers should get it. But it's too early to say whether he'll be a Laker forever. Lets see how these playoffs turn out first..

April 22, 2008  10:45 AM ET

I hope he finishes his career real soon -- he's got no class at all -- what a total waste of talent -- too bad he never acquired a sense of dignity or worth, self respect, or self control -- I'll take Tim Duncan and/or Michael Jordan any time. Kobe is the poster boy for what's wrong with the NBA, and the adoration which he receives is symptomatic of today's professional sports world's 'me first' milieu -- it's all about entertainment, not sports -- if he wins the MVP, that really seals the deal.

April 22, 2008  10:57 AM ET

It will be interesting to see if he does opt out. He could opt out in an attempt to get more out of the Lakers.

Life just got better in Lakerland!

April 22, 2008  11:25 AM ET

Why wouldn't he want to finish his career here? After all, as you all know by now, IT'S LOVELY IN LAKERLAND!!!

April 22, 2008  11:36 AM ET

All of you that bash Kobe do so because he isn't on your team's roster. Yes he was a punk to the point that I was wishing we could get a good package in trade for him. But if he had been the team player (ala Elton Brand) Buss & Kupchak would have done NOTHING and the way the west turned out this season, the Lakers wouldn't be in the playoffs at all.

Peeps call his loyalty into question, yes he demanded a trade, but said all along that it was business and that he wanted to be a Laker all his life. We all get frustrated when things go bad! When bad thing turn around become good, we love it!

One last thing: It was Kobe's rants and childlike behavior that made management do what they did. Therefore, it is Kobe that made a lottery bound team into the NBA Western Conference Champions, so he is the MVP this year.
