Agent-less Augustin won't return
All-America point guard D.J. Augustin will enter the NBA draft. Augustin, a sophomore, said he will not immediately hire an agent, allowing for the possibility of reconsideration. Even so, sources close to the team say that Augustin has no plans to return for his junior season. Augustin's backcourt partner, junior A.J. Abrams, also said Wednesday he will submit his name for the draft. Abrams' father, Andy, said A.J. does not plan to hire an agent. But Andy Abrams said A.J. will explore his options. Augustin has the security of knowing he will be a first-round pick. Though Augustin's height -- he's charitably listed at 6 feet -- is an issue for some NBA teams, two scouts have told the American-Statesman that he might be a top-15 selection. The same scouts said that Abrams is not regarded as a possible first-round pick.

That dude will be a first ronder even if he's 5'9", Augustin's got some mad skills and without him Texas wouldn't even have been a Top 20 team.

He's a good player. He'll make some NBA team happy.

Derrick Rose shut him down nicely. I don't know how he'll do against bigger PGs in the NBA.

eh-
other than Rose- who is a stud....
all the point guards coming out seem to all be the same player-
small & fast
I really don't see much separation between them.
if he goes to a good team- he'll be good-
if he goes to a terrible team- like the knicks- he will disappear

OK, maybe this guy is really good.... but hasn't there been something like 50 players coming out early that are supposed to be first round picks? I guess they don't teach Math in D1 colleges anymore.

Count the players in the league that are 6 ft and under.... you'll only need one hand.

there are a lot of players under 6 ft.... no one is listed at their correct height.... i personally think he and Abrams should go back to Texas cuz of their chance to make a run at the championship

this dude is going to have to guard chris paul, deron williams, allen iverson, and many other good point guards when he gets a taste of their skills he will be wishing he stayed in school.

We've seen quite a few highly successful sub 6 ft point guards and a couple shooting guards. Don't foget little men like Muggsy Bogues and Brevin Knight - maybe not superstars but very effective at ball distribution, difficult to defend, great FT shooters so good in the clutch. I think we've seen enough of DJ in top notch competition that he warrants a top 30 pick - top 15 seems a little high for me, simply because I have no clue what Euro prospects may be on the radar, but there's only 7 or 8 names that immediately come to mind as top 10 picks - first round equals a secure contract so he'll be fine.

PGs are hard to come by. Good one's are rare. I still think he should stay and go to the Final Four; he's not ready. Just because all your friends are gonna be driving Hummers building big houses for themselves and family members doesn't mean you have too also. Get your education and more experience.
