Jordan tired of crying Cavs

Perhaps Wizards Coach Eddie Jordan has finally had enough of Cavaliers Coach Mike Brown claiming that the Wizards played a dirty brand of basketball in Games 1 and 2. Jordan said his players have been on the receiving end of several hard fouls and other contact. In Game 1, Andray Blatche was elbowed in the face by LeBron James, and in Game 2 Blatche was hit in the face by Anderson Varejao. Also in Game 2, Roger Mason Jr. was knocked down by Devin Brown while attempting a layup, and Antonio Daniels hit the floor hard on a foul by Delonte West. Varejao was assessed a flagrant 1 foul for his hit on Blatche, but none of those plays received the kind of attention given to the hit Brendan Haywood put on James in the third quarter of Game 2. That foul earned Haywood a flagrant 2 and with it an automatic ejection. Jordan hasn't commented directly on Haywood's ejection but he sees a double standard in the way the games are being called and in the way the physicality displayed by both teams has been portrayed in the media.

GROSSESOUT9-Not sure what you mean when you say sell NBA products to the lower class. I was agreeing with you about Lebron receiving some favorable calls but what superstar doesn't in any sport.

April 24, 2008  07:17 AM ET

Lebron will get all the calls. The Cavs and Lebron will get calls before anyone else in the NBA- He is the chosen one!

Time to put up Wizards. the Wiz is the only team in the East that has beaten the Celts 3 times....too bad the Cavs are in the way now.

Eddie, stop bi***in. You came up with the "genius" plan to foul LeBron instead of teaching your players team defense. The hits aren't even subtle, it's streetball. So now that the league (and everybody else) knows this, guess what? THE CAVS WILL GET NEARLY ALL CALLS, dumb@$$!

April 24, 2008  08:58 AM ET

Hard fouls are a part of the game. Problem is, Washington's fouls seem to occur after they are 10-15 points down. this makes them appear intentional out of frustration. They're the ones that said he was overrated. Now it appears they can't stop him, and have to resort to cheap shots.

Honestly, they should have ejected Stevenson, he is the reason this is happening anyways. He keeps provoking everyone, and it led to LeBron getting nailed out of the air. Stars getting calls is one thing, but he could have been seriously injured on that play. Maybe Jordan should get some of his moron's to **** first.

April 24, 2008  09:05 AM ET

good teams adjust to how the refs are calling the game-
if they are calling it tight.....ease off
if they aren't calling ticky-tak fouls- you gota start bumpin/pushing more

There is NOTHING wrong with a hard foul

Why should Stevenson been ejected? If it wasn't Lebron no one would be saying they were hard fouls. If it was Delonte West or Joe Smith no one would care.

First off I'd like to know what Grossedout9 meant by selling to the "lower class".

Secondly, the playoffs are always extremely physical. If you can't handle it, you shouldn't be in the playoffs. Both teams need to stop crying and play ball.

April 24, 2008  09:51 AM ET

There is a big difference in being physical, and being dirty, or intentionally trying to injure someone. Anyone that's ever played this game knows, you don't go after a player in the air. Believe me, everyone knows this. On the courts anywhere, that's grounds to get your face broken.

April 24, 2008  10:14 AM ET

Then why don't they just go ahead and break each other's faces then. Let's see how far in the playoff that gets them

April 24, 2008  10:54 AM ET

It's the PLAYOFFS!!!

Enough said.

April 24, 2008  11:19 AM ET

thats what happens when you gotta play the same guys for two weeks....
how long is this first round.....good lord....................

April 24, 2008  11:35 AM ET

everyone knows that the NBA is full of sh-t....I watched the games and i saw the same things...the NBA ref's are lame...they allow some guys to get away with murder...thats the reason I stopped watching for so long...It all looks like a farce...the games seem set up....come on..lebron wasnt even hurt...and did you see some of those same hard fouls on the other end of the court??....I say...if they are gonna call it anyway..you might as well Laimbeer him...put him on the ground...hard....make the fouls count...I would take a suspension to put him out of the series....and we win.....Im not going to get suspended and the guy goes and shoots freethrows...come on....

April 24, 2008  11:58 AM ET

if i were the cavs i would hit Gilbert Arenas everytime he comes into the lane for every elbow Lebron gets. See how the Wiz like that.

and we all have to admit Lebron waving his hand in his face after dunking on Stevenson was classic.

April 24, 2008  12:05 PM ET

Probably just because it is Lebron James, the only decent player on the Cavs team. He is only one of the most recognizable NBA stars. That is really why anyone cares. Same thing when West touched Dirk. If West slapped Stackhouse around, no one would care.

April 24, 2008  01:26 PM ET

the question isnt whether or not they are fouls. its the attention that the wizards fouls are getting compared to the attention the cavs are getting. Its the playoofs, and OF COURSE they are fouling hard. Mike Brown needs to stop complaining. He is a horrible coach who is riding Lebron's coattails. AND THIS DUNK THEY KEEP SHOWING OF LEBRON. HE TOOK !!4!!! STEPS NOT 2,... NOT EVEN 3.... ....4 STEPS. No wonder its so easy for him to get in the lane and dunk. they let him walk around people. he traveled 6 times (none called) in game 2 He takes a jumpstop and then 2 steps. sometimes 3. Its one thing for calls to go your way. its another for the calls to not be made at all.
