Soriano's injury won't need rehab

Alfonso Soriano won't be hopping down the rehab-assignment trail, but he will jump right back into the Cubs' leadoff spot when he returns from the disabled list in another week, manager Lou Piniella said Wednesday. Despite a .175 batting average and two weeks off, both the team and Soriano say that once he and his injured calf pass a series of physical tests to prove his readiness, he'll go from the bench to the top of a red-hot lineup.

Loser...go away.

I'm a Cubs fan and honestly am not thrilled about Soriano bringing his .175 average to the top of our red hot lineup. Put him down in the order until he brings it up. Reed Johnson & Ryan Theriot are perfect in the 1-2 spot

i agree with schelling77 - the last week has shown that the Cubs offense has no problem scoring runs without him - put him at the bottom of the lineup and make him earn the leadoff spot

They tried to make him go to rehab, but he said no, no, no.

you can't go to rehab for being stupid.

Based on your empirical data.

yeah? i'm really excited about this particular development?

seriously - i really, really, really, REALLY hope Lou is smart enough not to mess with a good thing and stick Fonzie back at the top of the order. Bat him sixth after The Dome. How's this for a 3 - 7: Lee, A-Ram, The Dome, Soriano, Geo.

I'm very aroused.

I would invite him to a debate in N.C., if he does well against me and my opponent he can return to the starting lineup. But he needs to answer some questions first.
