Stackhouse: Scott's a sucker

Jason Kidd's bitter breakup with Byron Scott in New Jersey has been well chronicled. Jerry Stackhouse isn't a fan of the Hornets' coach, either. Stack, whose refreshing honesty I'm familiar with firsthand, made his feelings about Scott clear in an appearance on a Dallas radio show. "I don't think Byron Scott is the best coach or I don't think he's the best guy to deal with -- you know what I'm sayin? -- from some things that I've heard from other players and just some dealings that I had with him earlier in the season. I was about ready to kick his ass -- you know what I'm sayin? He was sitting on the sideline and we just got into a little conversation or something and he was going to tell me, you know, 'Talk to me when you get a ring.' I was like, I told that fool, 'If I played with Magic and Worthy and Kareem I'd have a ring, too'. So, you know, he's a sucker in my book, but that's a whole other story."

Mocking a class guy, your an idiot and better off keeping your mouth shut
KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING?

Kidd & Stack: Woman-beaters and Grade A nutsacks.

"A whole other story," indeed.

April 25, 2008  08:27 AM ET

RESPECT...Scott is a classy guy and Stackhouse isn't one.

April 25, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Im not sure Byron Scott isnt to blame for talking smack too but Stackhouse needs to let his play do the talking. When your down 2-0 you better come out swinging or buy a ticket.

April 25, 2008  08:35 AM ET

Hey Stack, you play with the Great White Hope Kirk but you still don't have a ring so shut up. And I doubt you could take Byron, who, after getting his rings has coached NJ to the finals and is leading a no name team from New Orleans perhaps to a final. Are you kidding me! Name another coach who won without talent? Name five coaches in the NBA who are loved by all their players. Every coach can and is often an a-s-s in the eyes of the players or fans or management or the media so shut up loser and play ball. You don't get paid for your opinion clown. If I wasn't such a Laker and Sixer fan (thank God you left Philly) I'd be rooting for NO to win it all just to watch you cry and Byron get another ring.

April 25, 2008  08:40 AM ET

Stack is one of the most respected players in the league. I always thought highly of Scott too. This strange and should have been worked out between them not in the press. Some people live for these types of stories.

April 25, 2008  08:49 AM ET

lol Stack getting worked up over trash talk. If I had a ring I would rub it in players faces too.... they all do it. Players talk smack, he is jsut pissed cause the smack talk got to him and it looks like his ring finger will once again be bare this year.

April 25, 2008  08:50 AM ET

Know what iI'm sayin?

April 25, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Stack is just mad that the Mavs are trash this year.

Although I do think Scott is a little overrated as a coach, I also think Stackhouse is a clown and needs to chill out. Personally, I don't hold him in such high regard after he made some dirty fouls on Joe Johnson three years ago and Shaq two years ago. The Hornets better watch their backs.

April 25, 2008  08:59 AM ET

Does Jerry know what he's saying?

April 25, 2008  09:10 AM ET

He's also the one who said he was going to have a month off when he was going to be traded for kidd earlier-

And you wonder why he has no ring........

April 25, 2008  09:16 AM ET

i don't know what he's saying... how are you about to kick some ass? either you do it or you're a ****. Sorry Stack i don't know what you're saying

April 25, 2008  09:18 AM ET

Obnoxious comment by Byron Scott. He acts like he was a franchise cornerstone, what a loser.

April 25, 2008  09:25 AM ET

Byron Scott may not have been a Hall of Famer, but he was a significant player on the last couple of '80s Lakers championship teams. In fact, he led the last of those championship teams in scoring. (Having Magic Johnson as your PG helped, but still....)

Bull ****, He was a role player. The Laker would have won with or without him.

April 25, 2008  09:37 AM ET

They could meet in the ring...maybe MMA, the both of them took martial arts and are pretty good from what I understand..even the best coach has someone that does'nt like him...Scott is a good coach and did benefit from playing with Magic, but still had to knock down some tough shots..

April 25, 2008  09:40 AM ET

Stack and Kidd. Before you can talk smack you got to be able to preform to prove it. And believe me without dirk niether would even be in the playoffs. So that is just like what he said about Byron. He might not have been the best but he sure as hell is getting the coach of the year with what he has helped the Hornets achomplish this year.

April 25, 2008  09:41 AM ET

Im pretty sure Scott could probably kick his A-S-S while wearing his full suit. Stakcs a joke, These guys that dont have rings, dont have them for a reason... They chase money instead of a better opportunity for a championship, take a small paycheck a few years back, and you could of ended up on a championship calliber team... But hey, Cash was more important, and thats fine, but dont blame someone else

Sorry NO, but Kidd has proved it... he can say whatever he wants, he has been the most covetted player at his position for years now
