Eagles-Bucs trade in works?

Lito Sheppard said last night he just happened to be in Tampa this week and checked in on some old friends. A source close to the situation, however, confirmed Jay Glazer's report on Foxsports.com, which said Sheppard "was in Tampa on Wednesday to visit with the Buccaneers, who have emerged as the front-runner for the two-time Pro Bowler.''

Report Offensive CommentThe Eagles are trying to aquire extra picks so they can move up and get th OT they want.

Report Offensive CommentIf it is about picks, Tampa is going to have to give up a lot for someone of Sheppards caliber... I don't think its worth it. Stay with the picks, groom your guys, and be successful. Yes, SHeppard is a Pro-Bowl player, but why sell the future for the right now? Sheppard will make a difference, but not a SuperBowl push diffeence.

Then this deal doesnt get done because Tampa only has 5. I doubt they're giving up a number one plus for sheppard. Good player and all but Tampa needs to think long term.

Report Offensive CommentLito is a great cb and I would love to see him stay. Birds would have the best cb combo in the league with samuels, brown and lito. At the same time I do agree with Reid. We need to replace both tackles, and the draft is the best way to do it
700 Level Lifer | 04/25/08, 09:08 AM
Report Offensive CommentYCMFord, the reason why they are interested in Lito Sheppard is because Tampa's 2 starting corners ARE OLD!!!!! They can't last much longer!!!! Thus, they need an impact guy to come along ASAP as chances are one will retire or get hurt, really just about anything. Tampa is trying to win NOW. They are not wanting to "rebuild", they are trying to retool to the best of their ability in order to win NOW. Period. Hail to the Victors.

Report Offensive CommentThe rumor is Lito for a 2nd and WR Michael Clayton (Not the movie, even though that may be a better deal)

Report Offensive Commentwonder what the bucs are offering, Lito for a 2nd and WR Michael Clayton is an interesting offer. clayton appears to have lost his ability to play, a change of scenery might help.

Report Offensive CommentClayton's got cement hands. I hope philly doesnt actually need a reciever. If he can't catch a tight spiral from the 14 QBs in Tampa, how is he gonna catch those end over end passes that McNabb throws? I mean, I dont know if he's trying to pass or kick a field goal.
