Lito Sheppard said last night he just happened to be in Tampa this week and checked in on some old friends. A source close to the situation, however, confirmed Jay Glazer's report on Foxsports.com, which said Sheppard "was in Tampa on Wednesday to visit with the Buccaneers, who have emerged as the front-runner for the two-time Pro Bowler.''

This could really help both teams but it wont happen

the eagles need o-line, recievers, and safteys. The bucs have none

True but it doesn't really matter. reid is looking for draft picks

April 25, 2008  08:30 AM ET

700 Level lifer has it right; I think this about draft picks.

April 25, 2008  08:43 AM ET

The Eagles are trying to aquire extra picks so they can move up and get th OT they want.

April 25, 2008  08:56 AM ET

If it is about picks, Tampa is going to have to give up a lot for someone of Sheppards caliber... I don't think its worth it. Stay with the picks, groom your guys, and be successful. Yes, SHeppard is a Pro-Bowl player, but why sell the future for the right now? Sheppard will make a difference, but not a SuperBowl push diffeence.

Maybe the Cowboys will trade Pacman to the Eagles for Lito.

Lito is a great cb and I would love to see him stay. Birds would have the best cb combo in the league with samuels, brown and lito. At the same time I do agree with Reid. We need to replace both tackles, and the draft is the best way to do it

April 25, 2008  09:10 AM ET

YCMFord, the reason why they are interested in Lito Sheppard is because Tampa's 2 starting corners ARE OLD!!!!! They can't last much longer!!!! Thus, they need an impact guy to come along ASAP as chances are one will retire or get hurt, really just about anything. Tampa is trying to win NOW. They are not wanting to "rebuild", they are trying to retool to the best of their ability in order to win NOW. Period. Hail to the Victors.

The rumor is Lito for a 2nd and WR Michael Clayton (Not the movie, even though that may be a better deal)

April 25, 2008  09:23 AM ET

wonder what the bucs are offering, Lito for a 2nd and WR Michael Clayton is an interesting offer. clayton appears to have lost his ability to play, a change of scenery might help.

April 25, 2008  09:30 AM ET

mk6ppc...I agree with everything you said except that Bryan Kelly signed with the Lions.

April 25, 2008  09:33 AM ET

Which gives them one old corner....maybe Ronde will quit and we can have the same fortune as NYG after Tiki quit.

April 25, 2008  09:43 AM ET

The deal I heard is McNabb, Lito, Westbrook, and Andy Reid for Jon Gruden and the Pirate Ship.

April 25, 2008  09:54 AM ET

Tampa's a nice place to be, anyways. Maybe Lito was just tired of grey, drab Philly!

April 25, 2008  09:57 AM ET

Phill's beautiful you dope...haha and a comment like that coming from someone who lives in Cincinnati. That's just too easy I'm not even going to bother.

Good for both sides

Micheal Clayton would fit in really well with the Eagle's WR, they all suck!!!
