06:11 AM ET 04.25 | Marian Gaborik has what the Wild are calling a "hip deficiency" and will require further medical tests before the team determines the treatment. The Wild issued a short statement Thursday saying the injury was "attributable to overuse," after the Slovak Ice Federation announced the team wouldn't permit Gaborik to play for Slovakia in the world championships because of the injury. Wild general manager Doug Risebrough said he doesn't know how serious the injury is. Risebrough said Gaborik didn't inform the team of any discomfort during the playoffs.

How hip do you have to be to live in Minnesota?

Most probably the most overated player in the NHL. He will never be a force in this league.
When it comes to sports, the State of Minnesota doesn't have sqwat.

After that series, I would venture a guess that Gaborik has a deficiency in a few areas.
If this injury is really serious, it's a killer. Hip injuries in this league are brutal, and make it really tough for an offensive player to generate any power from his lower body. If the injury isn't serious, then well the guy's soft, and he has no excuses.

So much Minnesota hate today, it's easily the best state in the Midwest. Cheating Patriots, have you met Dirty Roster, you guys would make quite the couple.
He's blaming his hip for not being clutch? I will never be a wild fan until they get a legit star to build around.

Gaborik is not that over-rated. Spezza, Heatly, Hossa, Redden, McCabe, Sedin sisters...feel free fans to add as you see fit.
Gaborik has not had the same jump that he had earlier in the season. Give him credit for not revealing it. I hope it's something that can be repaired 100%. He is a great young offensive player on a team that preaches defence.

Are you saying that Heatley is over-rated, Baun-ded? I won't necessarily argue the rest (I think Spezza is up for grabs, but I'd put him in with the top centres of the league as well). Heatley? The only guy to score 50 goals two seasons in a row in how long? PLays both ends of the ice, and is already on track to finish his international career with the most goals ever for a Canadian. I'd say he's rated just about where he belongs, if you ask me

I hear the Tame always claim to be sold out, yet often there are empty seats.
My gosh, this is such a boring team to watch.

Gocan...I guess with Heatly I was thinking...what has he done lately?

cheatingpatriots...Actually they do sell out...but they only have just over 18000 seats and season tickets start at about 700. Pretty much what you would pay for one night out at the ACC or The Bell Centre.

Hip injuries always make me think of Bo Jackson and his all to quick demise.
Heatley is another Tin Man who has never done anything of significance when the chips were down.
Gaborik is one of those guys who if you inserted him on a team of gunners would be very near the top of league scoring. If he's 100%. To get the production he does on a team like Minny especially while injured is remarkable.

Cheatingpatriots, the games are always sold out, doesn't mean a person uses their ticket. A small technicality. If they are so boring to you, why in the world are you watching them? Glutton for punishment? Anyways, Gaborik is a good player, has decent vision and a good skater. He looked like he didn't quite have his skate under him against the Avs. No wonder. I do think the Wild need to get an elite playmaker to pair him with. Too much pressure on Gaborik to score all the goals.

I always wonder why people who are against one team so much peruse their clips to leave worthless comments. Maybe I just don't have enough free time...

If Minny were to change its playing style to a more offence friendly system then Gaborik would be a 80 pointier every year. That said I truly believe Lemaire is out and we will score more goals next year.
Lemaire we will miss you!

Minny doesn't have the talent to go offensive.
They have to keep it close.
Gaborik would be well above 80 points on a team like Washington or Pitt. Put him with Ovechkin and they'd be lethal.

cheatingpatriots, The Wild are not boring. It's just too cpmplicated a hockey style for you to understand and appreciate...
Let me guess... NFL fan, right? Look who's talking about boring. I gave football a chance and fell asleep in front of the SuperBowl 3 years in a row...

The Wild have sold out every game since day one, the stadium seats 18,000 but they put in 18,830 every night can anyone else say their team does this I doubt it. The do need to give Gabby some help to much on him to score every night.

Lemaire is a great coach who would be badly missed. To bag on MN because their style is defensive is stupid. Championships are almost always won by great defense. Just look at Detroits struggle in the playoffs, the downfall of Tampa and Ottawa, and the success that defensive teams continually have deep in the playoffs.
Without the core of a great defense, it takes a great amount of luck to win a championship.

Smitty - there are LOTS of teams that can claim they sell out every game, the Wild and they cheap tix and giveaways are no special circumstance. Calgary and Edmonton, for instance, or how about the Habs and Leafs? Just to name a few teams that sell out every game - and have larger capacities, I'm pretty sure. I have respect for the Wild fans, don't get me wrong, but let's not pretend they are the best supported team in the league here.
Parrothead - Detroit's troubles in the playoffs? 3 Stanley Cups in 10 years, along with another trip to the Final the year before that a couple other trips right to the Conference Finals sprinkled in doesn't sound like troubles to me. Sure there were a couple early exits in there as well, but if the Cup were easy to win, it wouldn't be the Stanley Cup then would it? It goes to show the level of excellence people have come to expect of the Red Wings organization when winning "only" 3 Cups in the last decade is considered to be "having troubles" in the playoffs

Just one more note to add to Gocan's comment and my earlier one on tickets and sell outs. Yes the Leafs and the Habs sell out over 21,000 capacity. Not only that, watch how many fans follow the teams to places like Boston and Buffalo. You have to wonder who the home team is in those places with the fan base travelling to see the Leafs and Habs. And as I touched on earlier...season tickets are almost twice the amount of money in Toronto and Montreal compared to The Wild.
Not taking anything away from them...maybe its just that the Fans fear losing another NHL team if they don't go. Once bitten...
