Could Pats pry Taylor from Parcells?

Is it possible for the Pats to be the scene stealers once again? Would it be outlandish to dream of a scenario in which the Pats could pry Jason Taylor away from Miami? Would Bill Parcells even consider handing Taylor over to a rival? Logic says the answer falls into the "no-chance" category, but just the consideration of it happening underscores the best feature about the Pats having the No. 7 pick: The possibilities it creates are endless.

Jeez, don't waste a high draft pick on this guy when there is so much young talent out there.

I think the Dolphins better learn from last years mistake of trading away players to division rivals. Look what the addition of Welker did for the Patriots, and what a depletion it caused for the Dolphins. Understandably, they have a high pick, but trading to a division rival, especially when we have no other players on the team worthy enough to even battle anyone right now, in a rebuilding process, trading our best player to our top division rival would not be a smart move. Hopefully, Parcells has a bigger brain and enough hatred for those cheaters not to give up our best player to them, regardless how high of a pick they have...

Miami won't be very good for a few years. If they can get some picks/players from the Pats, then do it. NE is going to waste the fins anyway, why not get something in return that can potentially help you? When the fins are playoff material, the Pats may not be. All great teams fall apart as some point...

This would be a good trade for Miami in the long run, and great for the Patriots in the short term but could be bad for the future of the Pats a few years down the road!

Its a terrible idea to trade to the Pats and I dont think it will happen. The Pats are not gonna give us the 7th pick so for those of you thinking that it wont happen. At best Miami will get a second round pick and knowing the Pats it wil probably be a 3rd or 4th round pick!

Never gonna happen! How do this rumors get started...oh, yeah, draft day boredom! Belichick did not build a dynasty trading youth for other people's problems.

I'll burn every Jason Taylor jersey I have if he goes to the Patriots. It will be worse than that Yankees hat.

April 26, 2008  02:57 PM ET

Yes, bring him in!

April 26, 2008  02:57 PM ET

It would make the Patriots more balanced.

Based on this picture, someone is already up his ass

I'd love to have Jason Taylor on the Pats. He's a bit older, but he's 5 years younger then Seau and he played well last year at 39Yr old.

This works for the Patriots given there real need and focus on linebacker/DE position. He would help solidify and invigorate their defense taking it to another level which it needs to do in order to offset weaknesses in recent years. Belichick is and admirer of Taylor as a smart player, team guy and character person on and off the field maybe except the dancing part. It also works regards their defensive coaches. The value of him being able to step right into a position outscores whatever value a draft pick may eventually being to the team. s to age, Belichick mantra is sustainability for the team and players. He knows how to elevate and elongate careers.
