Saints, Rams, Bucs do Lito shuffle

Posted: Saturday April 26, 2008 09:11AM ET

Cornerback Lito Sheppard, barring some unforeseen development, will become a member of another team, and we'll all get to see what he brings in return. Early yesterday evening, it was the Saints' second-round pick that qualified as the best offer on the table. A league source said five teams had made offers for Sheppard. The Rams and Buccaneers were among those teams, and the source said the Eagles were still hopeful when they went to bed last night that some team would improve its offer today.

2nd round pick? Hope they don't settle for that. Although with the Aints, it could potentially be the 33rd pick in the draft.

The aints are gonna use that 2 on shockey, they'll get more for their money because shepperd wants elite money and he's NOT elite.

giantfbl, Shockey is coming off a major injury and will want top TE money. So from that perspective between Lito and Shockey are a bit of a wash.

writer making reference few in his target audience will get = fail.

Is the Lito shuffle anything like the super bowl shuffle?

The guy wants a big new contract. That is the hold up. He has second round value if a team is willing to pay him top dollar.

I wish the SAINTS would have made the move for Sheppard. It's obvious we need DB help. Shockey is a distraction looking for somewhere to occur.
