Cubs still interested in Roberts

Perhaps the best trade the Cubs never made was the one sitting on Baltimore's lap from December through March. One of the Cubs who would have gone to the Orioles in any of the multiplayer packages offered for leadoff man Brian Roberts is infielder Ronny Cedeno, who may be the club's biggest early-season surprise. The Cubs still figure to pursue Roberts if the Orioles shop him before the July trade deadline, but their needs may change. And if Cedeno, Sean Marshall and Sean Gallagher continue to perform as they have, the Cubs could make them untouchables.

this story has officially been played to death

Both teams are doing well the way it is right now...

The cubs now have the advantage in the trade, if it even goes down.....like Monica!

The Orioles and Cubs should focus on keeping things going as is - let this "story" die please

bullet 123: I think we're all a little tired of you pimping this **** site on fannation. I assume you're part owner, serious perv, or something like that... please go crack open a beer and watch the NFL draft or something similarly productive and normal

Good traded for both teams if it would happen. Until it does, I'm tired of hearing about it.

omg... i thought this was dead... who cares... the cubs will choke in the playoffs with our without him.

OMG, stop already until a deal is done. Better things happening in baseball than this.

Why are the Chicago papers beating this story to death? The players they want to trade are doing great. The Cubs are winning 2/3 of their games.

Don't screw with it!

On second though, I think you should trade all three players for Roberts at the earliest opportunity. By all means, screw with the team.

i thought it was stupid to even consider trading for this guy knowing how much you have to give up for him....

our relief pitching is what is bombing us right now and its why we've lost 4 out of the last 5 i think....

thats just my opinion...

the way fontenot has been playing, theriot, derosa, and btw they are ALL eligible to play 2nd....why in the **** world would we need ANOTHER 2nd baseman????

I still say this trade doesnt happen. Why would Baltimore take 3 mediocre prospects for one of the best 2nd baseman in baseball? True, Cedeno has increased his value of late, but for them the jury is probaly still out on the 2 Seans. And I still think putting DeRosa on the bench will hurt them more than help.
