Dolphins did put Taylor on market
Posted: Sunday April 27, 2008 07:50AM ET
Despite a flurry of rumors and even inaccurate media reports, the Dolphins in fact did not trade Jason Taylor on Saturday. The Dolphins didn't even field calls for Taylor, according to general manager Jeff Ireland. This much is not rumor: Despite vice president of football operations Bill Parcells saying that the only way Taylor doesn't play for Miami this year is if he retires, the Dolphins are indeed open to trading Taylor. Ireland spent part of last week calling other NFL teams to gauge interest in Taylor. And managing partner Wayne Huizenga told Palm Beach radio station ESPN 760 he would be open to trading Taylor.

Report Offensive Commentmarket pays what the market pays. best trade deal you might get could be with the bengals, since they got blocked on day 1 for any de/dt they had targeted.
(thanks cheifs, aints, and haguars)
Hard to guess what the bengals would trade for a 33-34 yr old end, but you might get 2 picks from them in the 5th to 6th rounds.

Report Offensive Comment<watch swinging from side to side>, a voice calls out, 'Keep your eyes on the watch going back and forth, you are getting sleepy, very sleepy. Your eyelids are getting heavy, you can barely keep your eyes open. At the count of three, you will fall into a deep sleep...one...two...three. You will wake up at the snap of my fingers and when you do, you will remember one thing. The Patriots, I want to play for the Patriots...one...two...three *SNAP*.' 'How are you feeling, Mr. Taylor?'

Report Offensive CommentIt's a business man. Let's be real. Taylor don't give a crap about the Dolphins.....and vice versa. NFL player's has gots to get what they can...when they can. They are like greyhounds - for that matter.....you better be successful OR you get put down. No play - no money. Life is really tough and hard.....Taylor can threaten and so can the Dolphins. Taylor can lie and so can the Dolphins. You think Taylor is a reall good player or is it because of his teammate next to him? Patriots choked. Giants got lucky. That is how life is. You get what you can when you can get it.

That was after they "got lucky" on the road in TB and after they "got lucky" on the road in Dallass and after they "got lucky" in 24 below zero on the road in GB....I hope "life" lets you "get' some reality.

Report Offensive CommentNo one said anything about the Giants getting lucky on the road. Their best games are on the road because they don't get booed as much as they do at home.
That's probably one of the reasons they won the Super Bowl; it was just another road game. One more thing giantfbl, try to get rid of that chip on your shoulder before you puncture your lung.

Report Offensive CommentTaylor would be an addition to ANY team. The Dolphins aren't going anywhere this year anyways. Let Taylor go elsewhere.

Report Offensive CommentIf the 'Phins were to trade Taylor before June 1, they would likely take a sizable cap hit. Look for action after that date.

Is it possible to debate this without name calling? Im laying odds RIGHT now, that you're a bandwagon fan. That you threw Manning and Coughlin under the bus back in October .. Im also willing to bet, that you knew in your heart and you vocalized it before the SB that the Giants would lose. You never had faith that the Giants would win until there was 90 seconds left in the game.
Bet me you piece of bandwagon mud.
If you cannot discuss the teams without resorting to namecalling? well two can play that game.

Report Offensive CommentTaylor has no reason to want to stay there. They got rid of Zach Thomas and they are not going to be competitive this season. The Dolphins want a lot for a guy who is at the end of his career. Teams are just to smart to mortgage their future by trading for him when they have no clear shot at winning it all with him.
