Bobcat boss Michael Jordan has committed to Larry Brown and is momentarily expected to announce him as the team's new coach, The Post has learned. The Bobcats have called an afternoon news conference for what was termed a "major basketball announcement." A report last night said Brown had already agreed to a deal.

Very Intresting, I wonder if he's going to stay long enough to let his young players develop

What a shock. Maybe this could work out if Larry stays around long enough. But I think you have to look at what the SIxers and Hawks are doing in the playoffs right now. If you have a young athletic team in the East, you can make moves.

Except for the debacle in NY, Larry Brown has been a winner at every coaching stop. The Bobcats need a quality coach capable of winning with what he's got while planning for the future.

Darn right Hank. He has left a lot of ugly divorces behind. In defense of Sam Vincent last year.....he lost key players before the season even started. Bobcats have to do something to pay the bills.

This should be interesting.

bobcats don;t know what they signed up for. This selfish whiney little "coach" is eventually going to run out on them like he did with the sixers. he has no heart. Screw him

Jordan great player crap GM at both places

April 29, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Well, I guess if the Jordan / Brown tandem doesn't work out then they could always go out and hire Isiah Thomas to do both jobs. He's got experience at both.

Or maybe not.

Another opportunity for a RECYCLED coach. The Bobcats needs talent.

April 29, 2008  09:39 AM ET

At this point, the EAST is up for grabs and i think Michael Jordan is making a good move in investing in a veteran, talented coach for his young team.

You sir are obviously under the influence of some controlled substance!

Anyone that hired this whiny nomad deserves EVERY problem that occurs as a result. And there WILL be problems!

I'm not an expert or anything... but LB will run the team to the ground, get his pay, then leave town. Track record he has, said Yoda.

Now they need to draft a big man in the draft and get a decent bench.

They'll be looking for you next time!
Get out while you can!

It doesnt matter who they hire as a coach, no one in Charlotte gives a damn about the Bobcats. Save your money and pack up and take them to another town who cares!!!!!!!!

Bobcats are about to turn this thing around!

They'll finish with at least 10 more wins next year.

I do get the feeling that Brown will want to shake up the roster, though. Wonder who is traded first?

This team could be in the playoffs next year.
