General manager Ken Williams silenced any thought of trading Paul Konerko last January, and now the White Sox first baseman has complete power to reject any trade. Konerko will possess full trade veto power Tuesday by virtue of earning 10 years of major-league service time, including more than the last five with the White Sox.

These guys get to this part of their careers and now become employees who are basically independnet contrators: Lets see, you can't trade me, can't stop paying me, if I'm injured or sick, must keep on paying me full boat, what's the worse thing you can do to me? Bench me and keep paying me full salary. Wow what a great country we live in! Too bad we all don't have the talent.....

ok...again..this rumor site has turned to ****...ok so he has a trade veto power...im sure anybody thats been in the league 10 years at his stature gets the power so idk how this makes news...konerko isnt going anywhere.
