A-Rod's DL stay could be long

The Post spied Alex Rodriguez in a stairwell at Yankee Stadium last night. Asked how he felt, A-Rod winced. Rodriguez had an MRI and last night the Yankees announced that the test revealed a Grade-2 strain of his right quad. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list. It's unknown whether Rodriguez will be able to return as soon his 15-day DL stint is up. The truth is, it could be longer.

I think he ran out of steroids....of course, the way the Yankees are playing right now, I'd say the whole team must of run out of steroids.

That a way to make an ignorant comment obamahateswhitepeople. but then this shouldnt be a surprise...just look at ur name. Just because someone gets injured, does not mean that they are on steroids. That is just a blatant stupid comment that makes you look like an idiot.

The yankees have a trend of starting the season slowly, this coupled w/ the loss of posada wii certainly not help. I hope that they can wether the strom till Arod and hopefully posada comes back.

The trend the Yankees have, is using steroids. I don't make this up. Everyone knows this is a dirty team.

April 30, 2008  06:24 AM ET

I wonder if all the running Giradi had the Yanks do in Spring Training caused this and Jeter's injury.

Remember the hammys last year?

Hopefully he won't be out that long. They seem to play better without him anyway :) I'm more worried about Posoda, but it seems he will not need surgery. That's good.

April 30, 2008  06:32 AM ET

Posada is a very good player. I do respect him.

April 30, 2008  06:52 AM ET

posada is about the only clean player they have. a-rod is showing the classic signs of being on the juice. why is the mlb turning a blind eye? i guess they have a reputation to uphold.

April 30, 2008  06:57 AM ET

Exactly what signs is Arod showing of being on the juice?

April 30, 2008  07:10 AM ET

NOOOOOOOO

Comments like this and other accusations give comfort to those who prey on hatred. With your logic mike Lowell was on the jucie because he had a long injury, and Ortiz' slow start was because he was coming off the jucie, and now is back on. All of this is of course rediculus, and so is your brain. Why don't you and and the 'obamahateswhitepeople' dude, go jump in a lake.

obamahateswhitepeople: almost dumber than your name here, are your first two comments regarding A-Rod and the Yankees.
"The trend the Yankees have, is using steroids. I don't make this up. Everyone knows this is a dirty team."
I'm a Yankee hater and think your comments are moronic.

It's yet again interesting how different newspapers are covering this A-Rod injury. Of course the Post takes this approach. The Newark Star Ledger (a much more responsible, clearer-thinking sports section) is going with the approach that A-Rod is just fine and the MRI is "protocol".

For all the bad things happening to the Yanks right now, I'm shocked that they are even .500. Posada injured, A-Rod injured, Jeter was injured, Cano not hitting, Giambi not hitting, Hughes sucking, Kennedy sucking, the complete lack of hitting with RISP, etc, etc. Thank God that the rest of the contenders in the AL are kinda struggling as well. Hopefully Pettitte steps up big tonight.

you tell 'em ****!

Is that ship a'hoy ****? or candle mak'in ****?...uh, nevermind.

Posada and A-Rod out definately will huirt the team a little for the near future. We will see if Posada needs surgery. I am more worried about Posada's shoulder than I am about A-Rod's leg.

Is this where the yankee fans who bragged about Hughes are? Just curious because I'd like to know how good he'll be when they fix his night vision problem. Will he win 10 -12 after the fix?
