bad move on Ben's part. Jamont Gordon leaving left the door wide open for Ben to take the team to where he wanted to go! Ben will regret the move professionally.

This story may be a bit trivial, but the kid was a starter on an NCAA tournament team that gave Memphis its toughest battle in the tourney until the final.

Too bad they won't get the chance to play against each other in the NCAAs

He isn't as good as his brother but I believe he will be a very good pickup for the Irish and what they do there.

This kid will NEVER regret this move. He could transfer to ND without a basketball scholarship in hand, and he'd never regret the move.

With the chance of getting Scott Martin from Purdue as well, ND will have a great incoming class in 2009. Ben Hansbrough will replace McAlarney in 2009, and Martin could replace Hillesland. Overall, this team could be as scary in 2009 as it will be next year.

ND's basketball teams are always scary.... not in a good way....

This was a great pick up for ND, mainly because he picked the Irish!

I hate to see him leave Mississipi State, but I'll be rooting for him. I liked his hardnosed, tough style of play. He'll be a great kid for Notre Dame.

MSU has a kid coming in from JUCO named Jacquiese Holcomb who will make Bulldog fans forget there was ever a Hansbrough in Starkville!

I'm guessing Notre Dame didn't recruit Jacquiese too heavily. Just a hunch.

No but UNLV, Seton Hall, Auburn, Georgia, Georgetown, Tennessee, South Carolina, Connecticuit, Clemson, Wake Forest, to name a few sure did! Besides when did ND become a legitimate basketball power, did I miss somethning?

Cowboystar, if Jacquiese was recruited by the schools you listed I imaging he will be a "one and done" at Mississippi State. I am not being critical of the player or the school but that is not the kid Notre Dame generally goes after as evidenced by their graduatrion rate for athletes. They will never be a legitimate basketball power playing by those rules but somehow I prefer the way they presently do things.
