Bucs changing up secondary

It was only a couple of years ago that Eugene Wilson was considered one of the 15 best safeties in football. So what do the Bucs have in store for one of the newer additions to their secondary? They're going to play him at corner. Even after drafting Kansas cornerback Aqib Talib in the first round of this past weekend's draft, the Bucs' plan is to move Wilson to corner. It seems a little crazy, but it might not be as crazy as it seems. Though Wilson hasn't played cornerback since he was in college, he was pretty good, getting his hands on 71 balls and intercepting 11 during a three-year run at Illinois.

WHERE is pacman post? Help!

I'm glad they picked Aqib Talib. I was jumping up and down after the Cowboys selected CB Mike Jenkins.

I am still pissed about Jerry Jones selecting Jones rather than Mendenhall. Jones was trying to justify his pick, but it made no sense. Saying we wanted a backup rather than a starter. Mendenhall and Barber would be perfect together.

I would have rather gotten a WR but when Mendenhall fell to Dallas I was screaming for them to get the BEST RB in this draft.

Eugene Wilson could easily make that switch.

America's Legend

We will have to wait & see how this works out - was surprised that Mendenhall fell that far.

The name is the only thing that changes.

Hortag,

Made a few comments myself to this posterior pain. Total waste of time. Many feel the same anger & frustration. Hope no one is visiting the web site.

If there are 32 teams in a league, and you are one of the 15 best safteies, does that not make you an average safety? And if so, is it really a big deal to move you to CB, where you have an equally good chance of being average there?

April 30, 2008  08:58 AM ET

Yes KPKahder-82 days

I understand that this poster is most likely not on the board to read my outrage.

Chances are its a bot that automates these posts...and even more likely its a third worlder posting crap spam for pennies a post.

Just wanted to vent.

Still, I suppose if someone were really angry...they would just bring down that site with a DOS attack or...maybe just access account information and post personal profiles of people on this public forum.....not that I would in anyway support any illegal activities such as that...............

50 year is somewhat kidding but he has a point. I hope that moving a corner to defensive end or wide re would not indicate a 50/50 chance of success however.

A DOS attack huh? Sounds like you really know what you are talking about.

Please keep your cyber noob drama to the realms of internet dorkdom. The depth of the Buccaneer secondary is what is important here.

1) My Drama is of the "cyber PRO drama"...get it?..PRO as in years of professional exp.

2) We well compensated dorks prefer you capitalize the i and d when referring to our realm. It's "Internet Dorkdom" aka your P-o_r-n Box.

3) The Bucs do not have a real secondary beyond Ronde Barber let alone "depth in the secondary". So what else is there to say?

Hmpph..and you have the nerve to call yourself MasteroftheObvious!!!

Very few Patriot veterans do well after leaving NE. Eugene will underachieve like he did here in NE (save his rookie season).

Gruden is offensively minded, but he's done a good job getting the bread and butter of the Bucs mystique back. I think Tampa Bay will have a great year and win the division.
