Haynesworth talks at standstill

Contract negotiations between the Titans and Albert Haynesworth remain at a standstill, but that doesn't mean the All-Pro defensive tackle is just sitting around this offseason, his agent said Tuesday. Haynesworth has hired a personal trainer and is working out regularly, agent Chad Speck said. Many of Haynesworth's teammates, meanwhile, continue to work out at Baptist Sports Park during the team's offseason conditioning program.

Hes a big dude. He cant risk getting too fat waiting around for an invite back into the Titans training room.

He's probably at home with some melons practicing his head stomps now.

I'd take him on my team anyday.......

BUT if you are Tennessee- you just can't sign him to a long-term deal-
too injury prone
2yr deal tops 3....but he won't take it-
he knows his days are numbered= do to age/weight/injury-prone

I would like to see it, know it would never happen, Titans need a WR, Bengals need a DT, Chad for Haynesworth after June 1st when the cap hit would not be as bad.

The dude has too big a belly to be sittin' around. And shouldn't an athelete already know how to train, without having to have a personal trainer? The guy needs a personal dietition......

Pay the man, Tennessee. He is worth his weight in gold. And seeing as how he is a DT that would be quite a bit right now.

I like Haynesworth...feel that, at least short term, he is a good anchor for the D-line. I'm not sure what exactly he's wanting...but if he gets more than a 4-yr deal, I???d be shocked. Plus, it was only last year that he really seemed to come into his own.

If I were the Titan's, I'd sign him to a three year deal with a high signing bonus (to get him in) and a low-salary with a very generous performance based pay-bonus set. This way he gets some cash up front, and if he really as good as he thinks he is, he gets paid more than he would without the performance-based bonuses. Plus, from his perspective, he can try out the FA market again in 3 years and get another nice signing bonus,

Look at how Tennessee's defense was with im and without him. The guy isn't that old and the team played far better with him than wothout. He deserves the money and the long-term contract. He could be a force for six more years.

Agree with Darklighter 100%.

They need to "step" up the negotiations.

April 30, 2008  10:01 PM ET

They better give him some $$$$$ or he'll step on their heads.

Damn you DaMoFo. That's exactly what I was going to say.

The man is a thug, stepping on the face of Andre Gurode causing him to require 30+ stitches. He's good, but still............a thug! WHY DO SUCH A THING?? He should have been arrested for assault!!!!
