He's thinking too much. Watch him at the plate, after every pitch it looks like he's trying to work out some algebra problem or something. He need to just relax and get back to playing the "game" instead of trying to make it a chess match. Grip it and rip it!!

I do hope he straightens out. At least until I can figure out if he's mulato or caucasian.

If they can get him back on tract the hitting for the tribe will jump consideribly. However, I just don't know if I see him turning it around. This is alot longer than a slump... It seems more like a sign of things to come.

This guy looks terrible at the plate. His production dropped well before this season. His stats from '04-'06 were much better than '07 and so far in '08. And Cleveland's lineup has supposedly gotten better (which should help a power guy like him.)

I agree with Ever also...any player who is big in size, put together some big stats and has seen a drop in production is suspect.

I'm wary about a lot of these guys that "burst on to the scene." It is unfair to directly accuse any player but they are guilty by association and they can only free themselves of that burden only by producing statisitcs that are comparable to what was done in the past. Any significant reduction for a continued period of time only raises suspicion further. And the suspicion is greater with the young guys.

Sizemore's numbers are down also.

It's only been a hundred at bats. Calm down. Sure, he may never again match his '06 numbers, but with the amount of line drives he's hitting, it's only a matter of time.

So he peaked at 29? In 2006, this dude hit 42 dingers and knocked in 117 runs.....in only 129 games!!! If he wasn't on steroids, perhaps he should start taking them.

steroids testing is what hapened...come on..

Just look at Ivan Rodriguez's numbers after testing began....and his physique while your at it.

Most players peak between the age of 26-29, so, yes, he probably peaked at 29.

Yes, their are questions and yes, last year was a disappointment, and yes, he has likely peaked, but...

As I was trying to imply in my original post, I still think it's a little early to write him off. His peripherals are still there -- I doubt he'll be batting .210 much longer.

he can turn it around. its just that the slump is going back to mid year last year. that is one nice thing about a long baseball season. there is plenty of time for a player to right the ship. there are a lot of top level players that are not doing well so far and hafner is just one of them. we shall see.....

it has only been 100 at bats if you don't count last year...his slide towards suckidom began last year...#'s were way down.
