Steroids maker 'advised' NFL players

David Jacobs, who was sentenced to probation on Thursday for distributing steroids and H.G.H., said he advised about 10 N.F.L. players on gaming the league's drug-testing policy. One way, he said, was to have team doctors write them prescriptions for drugs that would mask steroid use. Among the dealers he supplied were two N.F.L. players, Jacobs said, who would then supply a handful of other N.F.L. players with the banned substances.

Nobody cares about the NFL Mr Jacobs.

Now, tell us about Barry Bonds please....

Just 10 players. This guy was pretty small time.

I'm sure he advised them to drop their pants.....

Hank Steinbrenner is smiling!

Looks like a ploy he is using to try and cut a deal. With drug use in sports, front and center in congress, you can bet he will be pressed to name names.

Which he will happily do in return for leniency.

Funny how if this was a baseball story it would have been a big deal but no cares if NFL players are juicing.

The NFL seems to get a pass on everything. They have surpassed the NBA as the thug league and no one seems to care. Players are arrested weekly and no one cares. Players are juicing with roids or HGH and no seems to mind. A player gets busted and its hardly news where in baseball it makes headlines and is the top story on Sportscenter.

I guess if people like the sport enough they don't care what these players do. Maybe baseball is to boring and gives more time to think about other things.

Steroids and HGH will continue in all sports until they start prosecuting the players and not just the distributors. You start having some of these players put in jail and maybe the others will get the message.

The message right now is, "who care, it's in the pass, let's move on" It's crap like that, that makes them think nothing serious will happen. We know the sports aren't going to do anything, so maybe the law should.

I like your sentiment smoothsandy but I don't want my taxes raised to house more white collar criminals. Its a sport and I wish they would not juice but I don't thinks its criminal in the sense of a crime against society and you should serve time for it. I think a two strikes and your out would be sufficient and not involve the judges and public dollars.

With that said if any other big corporation that is as public as the NFL such as Microsoft had a drug problem like this the government would be investigating them and raking them over the coals.

As if the 10 players didn't advise other players like teammates. You're pretty naive there, Cheesedaddy!

Come on ...

It's perfectly normal for guys that are 6 foot 6 320 pounds to run a 4.5 40 yard dash

This isn't pro wrestling is it? No, and I've seen most of the NFL players in thier undies and none of them appeared to be on steroids!

Not at all news...as long as you have a sport where you need to be strong to suceed, you will have have performance enhancers being used. Stupid story. Whats next, homeless people often break into abandoned buildings for shelter?? Break that story to the AP.
