Bengals linebacker Ahmad Brooks has been accused of punching a Florence woman in the left eye. Brooks, who lives in Union, has been summoned to appear June 6 in Boone District Court to answer to the charge of misdemeanor assault, punishable by up to a year in the jail. Destiny Rosich gave a sworn statement Wednesday that Brooks was arguing outside her neighbor's home on April 9. She said her children were outside playing and began to cry because Brooks and the neighbor were about to start a fistfight.

good grief

Is Marvin Lewis going to step up and take control of this team? Start cutting players and pick up free agents who want to make news by their play on the field and not by their rap sheet.

May 2, 2008  08:28 AM ET

And people are getting on Chad Johnson because he wants out?

Why isnt Carson Palmer talking about this instead of what is going on with Chad Johnson?

Why arent people getting on Marvin Lewis? He is just as worst as Isiah Thomas. His players are out of control and it is a shame that Cinci is going through this garbage.

Why doesn't the Bengals just save everyone some time and turn the Ohio State Prison in to a stadium. This way their roster can play ball during "Yard Time"

Now we know why the Bengals wear those ugly, orange striped uniforms. So the acclimation from the Pros to the state Penn is minimal.

And Marvin Lewis didnt draft O'Conner because..............................

May 2, 2008  09:03 AM ET

Hortag. Usually you are excellent but I have two points on your comments today. First, the Bengals come from all over and many other states would never allow their criminals to just go back to the Cincy area to do their time. Maybe someday in a better world such understanding will exist.

Second, you can't play in correctional facilities since people get upset going there (doors locking behind them and etc.) and even the inmates usually don't cheer for their own team despite what you may have seen on the longest yard. Players who have played against prisoners have described it to me and it is like playing against the Raiders, Lions or Jets (or Fins this last year) with this foul hatred of the whole matter just hanging in the air. The hate is centered on their own guys except for some interest in the bending of the line. No offense meant to those teams or their loyal and strong fans.

Amazing at how many of you act all surprised by these events. These guys are animals....sex, money, and violence on the brain, all the time. Yeah, bash me now for my honesty.....

May 2, 2008  09:29 AM ET

Alfred,

I don't know if you should be bashed, but they play a violent game that makes a lot of money and they can get sex anytime they want. Part of the issue, and this never get's mentioned ever when talking about these players is owner responsibiilty. I saw one person mention Marvin Lews. What about the owners? it si their "company" they have the ability to fire people as well. They get to sit back, make money and take no responsibility for their employee. Where is the outrage for the owners?

a bengal in trouble ? the hell you say !!!

May 2, 2008  09:31 AM ET

Outofshapeandinjred!

I stand corrected.

I thought playing prison football was like the movie "The Longest Yard". You know, where the warden bussed in and arranged transfers of top football prospects for their prison football programs.

Oh well, at least I can still rest easy in the knowledge that Womens Prisons are like my Women In Prison DvD's......you know....how all the hot, young, taught, naughty ladies are all caged together....scrubbing each other down in the showers...and having hot woman love in their cells......

AND IF YOU TRY TO TELL ME THATS NOW HOT WOMEN PRISONS ARE...I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND SMITE THEE!!!!!!!!!

May 2, 2008  09:34 AM ET

No intelligent person can compare Marv Lewis to the ways of Isaih Thomas; Marv has not been sued for doing anything. Although I agree his roster of players could have their own mini series on COPS. I am certain there are several good teams out there that would love to have Carson Palmer on their roster as the starting QB.

May 2, 2008  09:35 AM ET

This is why we drafted Rivers.

May 2, 2008  09:42 AM ET

byebye brooks.

May 2, 2008  09:55 AM ET

They should change those stripes to black and white friggin' scum jailbirds. How does Marvin Lewis still have a job? Most guys who have a team full of criminals usually win.

May 2, 2008  10:02 AM ET

scum jailbirds. kinda like andy reid's sons?

but, yes, anything involving Bengals' players and their legal issues was stale after the 2005 season, when our crime wave started.

it makes you wonder - will teams ever learn?

May 2, 2008  10:03 AM ET

for the lemmings that believe the bengals were in the top 10 teams with nfl player arrests last season:

Belichick and Kraft wouldn't put up with their players doing this **** no matter how much money was made during the season. Why does Bengals management? Training camp should be relabeled 'Behavior Modification Camp'.

May 2, 2008  10:08 AM ET

Thats why they call her wood eye!

May 2, 2008  10:09 AM ET

She needs to stop making a specticle of herself.

I dated a girl with a wandering eye.

She has since become a Pirate.
