Stewart won't settle for second place
Tony Stewart tends to win races in bunches, just not lately. Though the two-time Cup champion is off to a decent start, he's ninth in the standings after the first nine races, he headed into Richmond riding a 23-race winless string. Stewart has come close to winning several times during the skid that began in August at Michigan. But that isn't much consolation for the driver of the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. Neither is there comfort in knowing that new teammate Kyle Busch and returning JGR driver Denny Hamlin have already won this year. "We don't settle for anything less than winning races," Stewart said. "When we know that we let one slip away, that's something that we do let ourselves get down about, but that's also what got us 32 (Cup) wins and two championships. We have such a high standard of what we feel our performance should be on the race track. I think that shows the caliber team that we have."

Sounds like he's talking as a TEAM PLAYER. Mr. Gibbs must of had a sit down with him. They don't need any distractions such as has been in the news lately.
Tony will win his share of races this year. Gibbs and Roush are right on top of their game so far this year and it will continue. GO TONY

JK....you are right about Roush and JGR. It looks like they got on the level playing field with HMS and the rest and just walked away from the pack.

this weekend belongs to #11..................denny is on his home track at richmond,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,denny is from chesterfield va area and thats what i call a place with lots of people.they have about 4000 souls in that place........thats a little more than in my valley............we have more animals than people but then i am a fair distance from where he was birthed................tony might have to settle for second place this week.

nascarzorin; Have to agree on both posts you made. KB has done a complete turnaround at JGR, is it the equipment or the atmosphere or maybe Gibbs got into his head. He seems to be exhibiting maturity that I never knew existed. You sais Tony is being patient and I agree , maybe that's the trick with that team. Patience and no stupid moves win races.
