Pain-free and building shoulder strength with each workout, Curt Schilling said he may be ready to begin a throwing program in a week to 10 days. The former ace, who is on the 60-day disabled list while rehabbing a right shoulder injured during offseason workouts, is expected to undergo a strength test in the next few days to determine if he is ready to pick up a baseball for the first time in 2008.

I guess the blowhard was wrong and didn't need surgery.

May 3, 2008  07:48 AM ET

baseballs version of a drama queen

May 3, 2008  08:07 AM ET

Yeah he is dramatic. I'll still take 2 of 4 recent World Series though and deal with the drama.

May 3, 2008  08:30 AM ET

He's going to make Clemens' 2007 contract look like a bargain.

May 3, 2008  08:35 AM ET

He will start taking steroids again.....then he will be back. Shameful, the whole Red Sucks organization is shameful.

May 3, 2008  09:05 AM ET

The bloody sock was actually ketchup. He faked the whole thing.

May 3, 2008  09:25 AM ET

He's going to make Clemens' 2007 contract look like a bargain.

Yankee64 | 05/03/08, 08:30 AM

That's literally impossible.

May 3, 2008  09:30 AM ET

o god curt and "yankeesteroiduser" shut the **** up he didnt fake it and he never did take steroids u dumbass and the redsox are thirty times better than the yankees

May 3, 2008  09:34 AM ET

as long as he is ready for oct. let the haters hate. yanks fans should be worrying abou there own pitchers, cuz they need it

May 3, 2008  09:42 AM ET

Honestly...WHO CARES! I am a huge Sox fan. I think Shilling gave us 3 good years. We do NOT need him anymore. He is a distraction.

May 3, 2008  09:56 AM ET

Schilling , is the type of player Clemens never was.He will make a difference down the road for the Sox...Will win a big game in 2008 World Series

May 3, 2008  09:56 AM ET

The Boston motto: Win by cheating

May 3, 2008  10:08 AM ET

Since you are a Yankee Fan you obviously are an expert on cheating. Must really stink since you guys can't win the big one anymore despite all the money you throw at everyone. Maybe Mussina will get you guys to the Series this year...

He is not a Yankee fan. You must have one of those 'jump to conclusion mats' on your front door. Your right Yankees cant win the big one anymore, not in 8 years, But dont you feel stupid saying that when your team couldnt do it for 86 years? WOW!

May 3, 2008  10:23 AM ET

He's going to make Clemens' 2007 contract look like a bargain.

Yankee64 | 05/03/08, 08:30 AM

That's literally impossible. Hyper

Not entirely if Schilling kidnapps Beckett and Dice K and didnt release them untill Nov. Then Clemens contract might be a bargain.

U should have seen me freak out when Wang called for the trainer while on the mound after 4 1/3 to look at his throwing hand. I guess it was just a cramp but I almost had to change my shorts.

May 3, 2008  10:49 AM ET

Ever notice Fat Papi didn't become good untill he went to Boston? I hear they have quality steroids there and with Mitchell being linked to the Red Suck organization, the players know they have nothing to worry about.

May 3, 2008  11:25 AM ET

I don't know if this is good, or not.... so, if Schilling does play again, will we have to listen to him exercise that gaping pie hole of his more... or less?

May 3, 2008  11:49 AM ET

I thought Schilling was just getting into shape before he reports to the Army.

Surely he will put his money where his mouth is.

Err, right?

To Yankeesterioduser:

Big Papi did not put on any significant muscle after joining the Sox. He was just in a better lineup and came into his prime. Thus the better stats.

Sosa, McGwire, Clemens and Bonds were obvious users because of their massive body/muscle changes after the age of 30.
