Owner: Nets aren't for sale
The Nets are still on their way to Brooklyn. That was the message Nets owner Bruce Ratner had Thursday regarding speculation that his team may instead end up in Newark. According to a report in the Star-Ledger of Newark, Devils owner Jeffrey Vanderbeek and Newark Mayor Cory Booker are trying to gather investors to buy the Nets and move them to the Prudential Center, the new arena the Devils moved into last fall.

If they can't decide whether to play in Brooklyn or Newark, then why not play at BOTH places?
They can play half their home games in Brooklyn, and half of them in Newark.
Look at the New Orleans Hornets. When they were rebuilding Orleans after the hurricanes, they played at Oklahoma as well as New Orleans.
Also, with the Brooklyn center being available because the Nets only play there half the time, the Knicks can also play some of their home games there, thereby reducing the booking at Madison Square Garden and letting it be available for other events (like boxing or concerts).
It's the perfect arrangement!
Looking ahead to the future, the Knicks and Nets can compete for the use of Madison Square Garden. Whichever team is predicted to be the better and bigger draw gets to have more of their games at MSG, and the other team has to play in Newark and Brooklyn.
How bout that?
