McCready's parents discuss Clemens

A few years ago, country singer Mindy McCready brought a special guest to her mother's North Fort Myers, Fla., home. It was the first time Gayle Inge had met Roger Clemens face-to-face, although they had talked on the phone numerous times and she knew her daughter had traveled to Las Vegas and other cities with the world-famous pitcher. In past years, he'd called (McCready's mother Gayle) Inge's home looking for her daughter. He'd flown Inge's sons on his private plane and bought a sleek set of golf clubs for Tim McCready, their father and Inge's first husband, just like the ones Clemens used. He'd even asked Tim McCready for permission to have a relationship with his daughter. All was fine until the visitor mentioned something that caught Inge off guard. "A conversation about his sons came up," Inge says. Then it hit Inge: Roger Clemens, father of four, was still married.

At this point - while still somewhat interesting to me I must admit - this is no longer for the sports pages of newspapers. I agree Wanted Man, when it comes to sports sections, ENOUGH!
Of course realize when talking about the NYC tabloids, you throw out all rules of journalistic integrity, responsibility, and class. So prepare yourself for the soap opera to continue.
Oh yeah, by the way, Clemens becomes more unbelievable every 12 hours...

We get it... Roger is a bag of feces.

May 4, 2008  09:15 AM ET

Please Roger, don't you go changing.

May 4, 2008  09:20 AM ET

This is why we verge off course on these threads.... there's just nothing more to say about it..... my only hope is that others of his ilk, like John Elway, get their day in the sun

OK Sir Robion, here I go off course. What do you have on Elway?

May 4, 2008  09:38 AM ET

What has Elway done?

Yes, there is a certain cluelessness to go with their gold digging.... thanks for the stuff, er uh, you're not married or anything are yuh.... I wouldn't want a married dude sleeping with my 15 yr old daughter.... uh, nevermind, I need a set of golf clubs, can you set me up?

May 4, 2008  09:52 AM ET

I agree Sir Robin. It's funny how the families of these women get on the proverbial high horse yet they basically pimped these women out because the athletes have huge bank accounts.

May 4, 2008  09:56 AM ET

Oh, and 1 more thing: Were you "enough is enough" guys saying the same thing when this was Barry Bonds? Let's not be hypocrites here.

May 4, 2008  10:01 AM ET

Sir Robin,
Whenever someone brings up the 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' argument (as happened the other day on the NFL / Little thread), it reminds me of a joke I once heard. Here it is:
While Jesus was walking through a town, he noticed a crowd of people shouting at a woman in the center of the stoning pit. Jesus then climbed down to stand next to the woman and said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." From out of nowhere a rock goes past his head so closely he can actually see the individual grains of sand that make up the rock. Slowly he turned looking for the person that threw the rock. When the person was found he said, "Dammit, Ma, sometimes you really piss me off!"

Well, after I made the comment about Mary hitting Little with a beanball it was, as becca e would say, on like Donkey Kong.

Thanks Chaka.

They were lucky she wasn't dating OJ.....it would have been a different outcome.

Barry Bonds' story had some baseball relavence. Let's just hope Roger's **** conquests don't number into the thousands.
