A key member of the Rams' front office might be joining Al Davis' operation with the Oakland Raiders. Davis is looking for a new contract negotiator and salary-cap specialist, and Samir Suleiman reportedly is a candidate for the job. Suleiman, 32, has been the Rams' director of football operations since 2000.

The downside is you'd have to work with Al Davis.

I'm a Raiders fan, but I must admit, this is like Atiken Skywalker giving into the dark side of the Force in Episode III.

It doesn't matter who you bring in. Al Davis, the Steinbrenner of the NFL, has too much influence or say. Someone needs to tell Mr.Davis that the outfits & jackets he wears when out of style back in '74 when his act did.

Samir Suleiman has my sincerest condolences. Why isn't Al Davis dead yet? Oh, yeah, the whole evil emperor thing.

After all these "outta whack" signings, someone has to come in and straighten out the mess...This guy is perfect for the Raiders. How many bean counters do you know that have threatened someone's life?

Could Sulieman just be usuing "OLD AL" to get more cash from the Rams???

Must be a slow sports news day

...and next year, all will be forgotten about you Raider haters. Know what makes it interesting reading all of this? The SF papers are much more harsh on Al than any of you Denver fans or 49ers burnouts. Good luck to you and your teams this year. You'll all soon find our that they'll be following in Al's footsteps soon enough. -Out.

A little late to be thinking about the salary cap issue isn't it? Not an issue when he was throwing prime time money after mediocre talent..

May 4, 2008  09:44 PM ET

So what does he go and act as a Patsy while Al Davis signs players for any amount of money that he wants.

Mr. Davis will get his way, he collects trophy people. He is setting us all up. He is preparing to pass the torch (please, please, please!), maybe to Amy T or...wait for it...Lane Kiffin?
