Long and short of it - nothing is changing at the U.

May 4, 2008  11:28 AM ET

Wow, that's shocking! I thought U of M(iami) only recruited the smartest and brightest of athletes? If they don't qualify, I am sure they will go to Appalachian State where they will continue to dominate. Thank god ASU doesn't play U of MI this year. But they will be playing LSU!

what was it that someone wrote in T&R about college football/basketball -- the kids don't go there for academics, but for the sports, so why should we complain when they jump after one or two years -- maybe the colleges should just drop enrollment in actual academic classes all together and just be a farm system for the pros -- I think college baseball is the only sport when athletes generally do graduate before entering MLB -- of course with all the current whining about the relative low percentage of 'minorities' in MLB [if you don't count Latin or South American heritage], that may change as well

Warden,
This stuff happens, these recruits enrolled early. That means they graduated high school early. CHODE......Anyway, to you and your Michigan buds good luck this season. You will be lucky to go 500, but wait you are in the Big ten so maybe you will come in second like every year.
Yes we are blessed to have a coach that keeps our players out of trouble. No off the field incidents in a couple of years now. Good luck this season!!

There are academics at Miami?

May 4, 2008  02:56 PM ET

Love watching the idiots flock when they have a chance to take a shot at Miami. Go back to burying your head in the same sand it's been for the past 10 years. Tools.

May 4, 2008  02:56 PM ET

They play football at ND??

May 4, 2008  03:22 PM ET

"no off the field incidents"
o but wait, on field brawls aren't a bad thing

May 4, 2008  06:20 PM ET

Keep waiting geniuses!

May 4, 2008  09:11 PM ET

usc......if somebody kept cheap shotting your teamate would u fight back and just let it happen??

May 4, 2008  09:11 PM ET

Coaches can't do that! Can they??? over recruit? I thought every school had the chance to recruit 35 kids each year.

Ohhh, I'm sorry I guess it's only Miami of FL & Alabama!

May 4, 2008  09:12 PM ET

notre dame just had a brawl amongst themselves in this yrs spring scrimmage..nice close teamates

May 4, 2008  09:14 PM ET

May 4, 2008  09:15 PM ET

May 4, 2008  09:19 PM ET

Thanks broward - a small pushing match between teamates v's a kick'em when they're down, stomp'em on the ground b i t c h fight. That's why Miami is known as the Convicts!!

May 4, 2008  09:27 PM ET

It's not in this article, it was after National signing day. Both school's took 30+
recruits. Knowing some of them wouldn't qualified academically.

May 4, 2008  10:07 PM ET

sexton....if u saw the game u would understand...fiu was playing so dirty all game...not saying its rite to fight back but it was so provoked..u had to see it...fiu drilled the kicker so bad

May 5, 2008  03:08 AM ET
