The A's can't believe how well Frank Thomas is running since he joined them last month. He recently delivered his first triple since 2002.

c***sucker didn't put in HALF that effort for the Jays

May 4, 2008  12:28 PM ET

Good for him! Always liked him. He and Bagwell were born on the same day and I always compared their statistics. Then Jeff got hurt (Hurt?) and Frank took the lead.

In Thomas's first stint with the A's he was just coming off injury, not going full speed into the season. The season itself wears on you, and then a hard turf in Toronto. We'll see what he's got left. No risk signing for the A's who he's a good fit with, experience plus a decent number of homers.

great move Jays!!!! the rest of the AL east thanks you!!!!

May 4, 2008  01:38 PM ET

I'm sure his triple was a graceful sight.... what happened? Did the two outfielders collide and break their skulls? That's the only way I can see this fat tub of goo making it to third without two other hits.....

May 4, 2008  02:15 PM ET

Well he is probably very well rested because with the jays all he was ever doing was walking back to the dugout in shame after striking out.

May 4, 2008  05:02 PM ET

He can run? Amazing!

May 4, 2008  06:12 PM ET

Was he being chased? By the cops or something?

May 4, 2008  06:25 PM ET

Frank Thomas is everything that is wrong in baseball today.

May 4, 2008  07:07 PM ET

I thought this was about Frank's eating habits...

May 4, 2008  07:08 PM ET

He's what 39? he don't get paid to hit triples, but to rack up the RBI.

Ron. Dog: I understand what you mean, i think. the DH really extended careers for these older guys, making the big bucks. I guess they are at the highest tax bracket, at what 35%? One player was complaining that the government eats up alot of his salary, If he makes $10 Mil he only gets to keep, $ 6.5 Mil, then has to pay state and local tax, and is down to $ 5 mil or so take home. Well excusssssse me! Hero's my arse. My neighbor's kid is very ill, and a medical researcher came up with Med's to help her, research and what not. He would be the real hero, at about 100 G's a year!!!

May 4, 2008  08:59 PM ET

he can steal my base anytime. WINK WINK HONK HONK

May 4, 2008  09:04 PM ET

Maybe's he's busting his ass because he got shamed and embarrassed in Toronto...

May 4, 2008  11:43 PM ET

Frank has 12 triples in in his career, which is 12 more than you haters. There were no errors on the play, it was fielded by Vlad Guerrero. Tronto was trying to cut him out of his incentive ($10 million) which kicked in at 360 ABs. I would have done the same as him.

Frank has 12 triples in his career, which is 12 more than the haters here. He also reached second today on a shallow pop up cause he hustles. He has a lock on the Hall of Fame. The only way the whiners here will see he Hall is if they buy a ticket.

May 5, 2008  03:05 AM ET

Maybe he was told there would be nacho's in the dugout!

May 5, 2008  09:40 AM ET

Thomas' triple was on a bloop down the right field line that skipped past Vlad Guererro in right field.

Not exactly a blast.

But, although many people, including me, wrote him off he has responded in Oakland with a .400 OBP.
