Bears running back Cedric Benson was arrested late Saturday night near Austin, Texas, and charged with boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest, both Class B misdemeanors. According to a sergeant from the Travis County Sheriff's office, Benson, who played at the University of Texas in Austin, was arrested by the Lower Colorado River Authority. A LCRA spokesperson said that Benson, who failed a sobriety "float test" (an abbreviated version of a field sobriety test) on the boat, argued over taking a follow-up test on land and refused to put on a life jacket. LCRA police attempted to arrest Benson at that time but he refused to cooperate and was pepper sprayed.

Is driving on a car while intoxicated a class B misdemeanor too???? or for some reason... it is safer to be drunk and drive in the water than in land???? well he flunked the sobreity test when refused the life jacket.... bet you can't swim... or float... well, that explain it

So, first he forces the Bears to dump the one RB they had - in Jones - who ran the ball with any kind of success. Then he **** the bed as a starter, and the team completly misses the playoffs and angers their captain. Now, he goes out and resists arrest to the point of getting pepper sprayed? Looks like we know the next name on the list of guys the Bears are cutting

I'm from Texas and will tell you LCRA are about the biggest **** in law enforcement. It's like they found every 40 year old fat donut eating Mall Security guard on a power trip and gave him a badge and a gun. A friend of mine who was sober took that test and failed it so they immediatly gave me the keys to drive the boat back home saying I was sober enough. I was fitshaced. That being said. What the stupid are you to get pepper sprayed. He's still a moron. Just saying the LCRA sucks........jelly filling.
