Milton junior tailback Toney Williams spent the majority of his childhood in residing in Chattanooga. But that fact had little to do with his decision to commit to Tennessee on Saturday. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Williams chose the Volunteers over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi State, N.C. State and Rutgers.

Makes sense. Reportedly this kid loved Tennessee. He's a big back too, which they really haven't had since Jamal Lewis.

We need someone to come and make the rushing offense improve. We haven't had a great running back since Travis Henry who is now on his third team in the NFL.

Also why not choose UT. The other schools are good but obviously UT gives him the best chance.

I agree with you C Note. I actually forgot about Travis Henry.

Arian Foster isn't that bad but he's not in those guys' league.

Plus he lived in Chattanooga which is Big Orange country. I went to HS in Chattannoga and UT was my second choice for college. As a matter of fact and came down to USC #1 and UT second. I can definitely see him going to UT.

They just aren't drawing the type of running backs that they used to. I remember when Cadillac Williams was committed to UT and then backed out after Rudi Johnson left Auburn. This will help but we need the top recruits to stay competitive in the SEC.

its about time that we get a big back. Hope that 08 is a great year for us.

You guys seem to forget that Travis Stevens set the single season rushing record in 2001 and he wasn't the Jamal Lewis or Jabari Davis build we just need good football players instead of the speedster thugs we have recruited in the past few years.

We need Running backs that aren't scared little boys... Thugs want to look good but won't do the work required to get the job done.
