Benson alleges cop abuse

Cedric Benson fully intends to fight misdemeanor charges of boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest stemming from a Saturday night incident near Austin, Texas, during which police used pepper spray to detain him. "There was no resistance on my part," Benson told the Tribune on Sunday night. "Was I drunk? No." Benson said there was alcohol on his 37-foot yacht but that he was not intoxicated and the boat was stationary when police arrived. He said he fully cooperated with officers and that this was the sixth time he had been questioned by lake police in the year that he has owned the boat.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was telling the truth. Of course there will many that say he is guilty, but let the facts come out before you judge.

if you get arrested, cops will bounce you around. rich athlete or avg citizen. keep your mouth shut and it won't be much. run your mouth and you will feel it.

any guesses on what Benson had to say when the cop decided to arrest him.

Innocent until proven guilty. This is not pac man jones here. benson got busted with a little pot in his life, nothing violent. His story sure sounds believable.

When you deal with drunks, you need to do what you need to do. He was too drunk to cooporate with them and became beligerent, so they subdued him the best way possible.
