D'Antoni is the last vestige of the fallen Jerry/Bryan Colangelo era of the Phoenix Suns. He has no link to the Robert Sarver/Steve Kerr era, which is unfortunate, he is a great coach. In the end, all good things must pass...sigh.

If he gets another job, does Phoenix still have to pay him?

Mike D'Antoni can come to LA to assist Phil Jackson. In case Phil needs someone to hold his bad hip, D'Antoni would be a great cane.

Yes, the Hawks would be a good fit.. it would bring some permanent fans to the arena and give the franchise a huge boost. Not to mention that this team is young and talented and has the parts to make trades for D'Antonis type of players.

The Hawks would be the best fit for him, but if he has to choose between the Bulls and the Knicks, I would choose the Bulls. Most of the pieces he needs are already in place.

D'Antoni is the reason for the Sun's fiasco. He's the one responsible for the horrific play management epitomized in game 1 against the Spurs, when 3 seconds to go up 3 points, no one was ordered to foul Nowitzki. Not only that but also he was slow on calling momentum-changing time outs throughout the whole season and often doesn't facilitate "blitzkrieg" game-tipping match-ups. Unfortunately, his inferior anger management skills cost the Suns inexcusable dear technical points. D'Antoni was much overrated. Good-riddance!

I hope he talks to Bryan Colangelo. On another thread, there is speculation of trading TJ Ford... Maybe there is more in the works..

I sure wish I could get fired and still get paid over $4 million if I didn't find another $4 million a year job ! ! !

Looks like the ride is over here in PHX. I see D'Antoni heading to TOR due to his previous connection with Bryan Colangelo, but it's been said publicly that Bryan will not replace Sam Mitchell. Will he hire D'Antoni and look like a hypocrite? Hard to say, but TOR wouldn't be a bad place.
