Authorities investigating felony dogfighting at a Surry County, Virginia property owned by Falcons quarterback Michael Vick could have enough evidence to present to a specially called grand jury before a scheduled July session, Commonwealth Attorney Gerald Poindexter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Tuesday.

Atlanta better be shopping for a new QB, and quick. See ya Vick!

Law Enforcement had enough probable cause to obtain a search but didn't execute it because the sheriff told them not to. Any hope of obtaining new evidence in this is now being destroyed because of the search warrant is now known to the entire country, never mind Vick. I understand the sheriff wanting to have his thumb on this investigation because of the publicity from the case but to prolong the execution of the search warrant will lead to lost and destroyed evidence, creating more doubt to Vick's involvement or not in this.

Could Vick burn anymore bridges in Atlanta?

May 30, 2007  09:30 AM ET

I'm sick of this story. Turns my stomach every time I think of it. VICK.......YOU ARE SICK. Portis you are an idiot.

Well said 1Hawkeye1, it is amazing how much we agree considering I'm a Wolverine fan...sorry. But you can bet if they try to punish him in the NFL the players union will be right there to support him.

What happened to Vick...Amazing one season and then right down the crapper the next...Just another over payed athlete

have fun in the cfl

May 30, 2007  09:59 AM ET

I am a atlanta falcons fan at heart but all this about vick (always being in trouble and his lack of consisity and flipping off his own fans and runnign his mouth like he was the best QB to ever play) is makeing me sick he is a waste of tallent and will never be even in the same catagorey as QB's like Manning, Brady, Elway, Aikman, Young, ect...

May 30, 2007  10:00 AM ET

If Mike Vick gets convicted, you bet the Falcons cut him.I bet they wish they ever traded away Matt Shuab.

May 30, 2007  10:13 AM ET

I'm an old Hokie and I have always tried to give Michael the benefit of the doubt because he is a Hokie, too....but I draw the line at animal cruelty. If he isn't involved...good. If he is, SHAME ON YOU MICHAEL !

May 30, 2007  10:24 AM ET

No ATL Fan, you can't have schaub back.

May 30, 2007  10:33 AM ET

This article is deceptive. There is NO evidence on Vick...according to the prosecutor. As such, there is no point in trying to link him to this...aside from generating false controversy.

That was the second time Ron Mexico caught crabs. Then he gave it to the dog.

DMX is sickened by this and has vowed to retaliate through a new album. Be scared Mexico. Be scared.

May 30, 2007  10:43 AM ET

No evidence!!! We'll see. It is enough for me that he had dog fights going on on HIS property, and IF (big IF) he truly didn't know about it, he should get suspended for atleast 5 games for stupidity. You're a star, you need to know what's going on around you and on your property. He's just an arrogant prick who thinks everyone loves him. Hey Vick.... I don't love you, nobody does except maybe your mother, everyone else just likes your money and fame. Fess up and stop being a b*tch. Peace.

You all are jerks for passing early judgment and I hope he's found innocent, and you know what I am glad his water-bottle incident was a witch hunt and if you so called fans were in the bleachers I see why he shot a bird I would have shot TEN!!

May 30, 2007  10:44 AM ET

Give him the chair!!! or better yet release the dogs on him.

May 30, 2007  10:44 AM ET

People hunt and kill for a sport, we are not cavemen but we shoot innocent animals and its okay, how does that stand up to this......IT DOESN'T!! IDIOTS

May 30, 2007  10:49 AM ET

vicks only reaping what he sows, its not a coincidence if hes always finding himself in trouble...if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, then its a duck! dont portray vick as some saint, because hes not, hes connected to this somehow..so if thats the case..pacman didnt know what happened when 81 grand was all over the place and people started shooting? right..these guys bring this apon themselves and i have NO remorse for them

Vick is guilty in the public court of opinion. Where there is smoke there is fire. I hope he goes down. When the heat is on he will roll over and give up anyone and everyone to save himself. This whole thing is sickening and I hope the authorities nail him and everyone involved. Vick is just another thug that had enough talent to make the NFL. I hope and pray the all mighty karma comes back to him for the torture he has put these dogs through.
